Owners and location are great; a bit of noise the only drawback.

Three generations of our family stayed here in three rooms for four nights in July 2008. The hotel is very conveniently located a short walk from the Termini train station, making it ideally situated for getting around Rome. There are several restaurants and plenty of gelato within a short walk, as well as a laundry not far away that we used after two weeks on the road. The brothers who run the hotel provide outstanding service. They helped with directions and advice, booked tickets in advance for some of the museums that issue them, and arranged transportation to the airport--all of it without seeming the least bit bothered by our requests.

The breakfast is not exciting, but it will get you through the morning well enough. The only complaint we had was that in one or two of the rooms, there was a great deal of noise from above at night. Fortunately it did not go terribly late, but while it lasted it was unpleasant. But that was the only drawback, and it would not prevent me from giving a very positive recommendation to the hotel. The rooms themselves were fine. Each was different, but all were comfortable.

Conclusion: I would recommend this to anyone looking for good value, a great location, and terrifically friendly service.

Stayed here for 6 nights over the period for the Champion's League final. Close fo the Termini train station, the hotel is well placed for accessing all public transport in the area. The rooms are spacious and very clean; ours had air con, a mini-bar and a small balcony overlooking a back-street. The hotel is run by two brothers who we found to be extremely helpful and friendly. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity - you may find that if you hit the small breakfast room at peak time, there wont be room to seat you. We would strongly recommend the nearby cafe at number 68/70 Via dei Mille, just around the corner, where the owner Roberto and the waiter Remo made us feel very welcome. My only criticism of this hotel would be that there seemed to be a lot of noise from the regular closing /slamming of the door between the lift and the hotel rooms. If you stay at this hotel, I would recommend that you ask for a room that is as far from the lift as possible.

This is a brilliant hotel near Termini. The area is a bit run down, but lively at night. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Recommended two restaurants nearby which were excellent. We would recommend the Maid of Naples. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to an apartment which had two bedrooms a sitting room, and a balcony - small bathroom, but very clean. We would definitely stay here again. The hotel is quite easy to find - once you know how. Once in the train station, walk towards the main gallery and take the exit on your right-hand side and you will be on Via Marsala.; follow cars' direction and take the first street on your left-hand side: that is Via Milazzo. The hotel is at the very end of the street at number 42 (which is the last door on the left-hand side). There is only a little brass plate outside and you buzz to get in.

I forgot to write a review of this place back in November, but I wanted to take a minute to do it now. It really is a nice hotel, I agree with much of what the other reviewers have said. Large, clean, quiet room, with nice breakfast. If you want bacon and eggs, you'll be disappointed, but we liked what we got. Coffee made to order, fresh pastries, yogurt, etc. The staff was very polite and friendly. Really the only reason you might not stay here is if you want a hotel in another part of the city, but if you want to be close to the train station on a quiet street, then this place will be perfect.

My wife and I spent five days in Rome from June 26 to 30. We stayed 4 nights at the Domus Praetoria. Walking distance from the Termini Train Station (four small blocks). The Service provided for Massimo at the Front Desk was great; he gave us really good tips (Restaurants, Tours, etc.). The rooms are clean and spacious.
Tip to get the city: At the Fiumicino Airport, take the Leonardo Express (30 minutes, $11 Euros).
