A hotel 2 min from termini. Nice and quiet neighbourhood with some nice trattorias/restaurants nearby. The room was somewhat small but had everything that we needed and a fresh bathroom. The staff was helpful and the desk was open 24hrs. The wifi was so-so. Found the wifi but got no connection. Told the staff and they rebooted the router. Then it was fine. Nothing that bothered us that much. The breakfast was yeah, well, it was Italian breakfast. Some bread, crusiants, jam, OK coffee, and Nutella. They also hade some serials. Tried a trattoria breakfast in hope of a better start of the day but was disappointed. Italians ain't famous for their breakfasts they are famous for their wine and food. :)
The price was OK.

We're satisfied with hotel Domus Praetoria because of the price, service, clean rooms and location.

The rooms in this grand building close to the Termini Station are large, beautiful, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel is run by three vey helpful and friendly brothers (Massimo, Fabio, Antonio). One of them is always at the reception and available to help us with any request we have. Despite the central location, the hotel area is surprisingly quiet at night - and in our experience very safe (we've been regularly staying at this hotel for many years). The hotel used to be a hidden jewel. Today, it's no hidden secret anymore, but still a jewel.

Close to the Termini train and metro station, which was very convenient, but also quiet and larger than the hotels we've seen in Italy, and cheaper. The staff spoke english well, and there was always someone at the counter, who was friendly and helpful. Having no idea how to pick a good hotel from the states, and all reviews aside, this was a good choice for us and we really have no negative things to say about the place. Yes, the neighborhood is interesting, but quiet and away from any traffic or even much foot traffic. It was literally minutes to the metro and sights... so for that alone, a great location!

Although we stayed for 1 night last summer (July 2013) after disembarking from a cruise and before catching a train next day to Venice, I was simply pleased with the hotel. Good value if on a budget, we just walked with our luggage on wheels from the Main Train Station Termini. Have good directions, it was a bit confusing before we found this lovely and a bit hidden hotel. Room was clean, high ceilings, all u need in the room. Breakfast basic, felt semi-full, but no problem with that. Main attractions seem a bit far, so we just got the double decker sightseeing bus nearby for a city tour for about U$25/per person. What I must mention though is the extremely gentle, polite and helpful dark haired man of about 30+ yrs at the front desk, he even let me use his computer when I couldn't find my train e-ticket on my tablet. That was such a pleasant experience compared to other encounters with Italian cruise ship staff, service people in other hotels/restaurants, and espec. the woman at info office of Termini station who barked at me and was giving me and other travelers in need of direction "you're all bothering me" looks. I was on the verge of tearing up. Lol. No, really, I have traveled the whole world, but Italians are... really interesting in this regard

This hotel is well situated close to the main railway station Termini with all kind of services and easy transports to all parts of Rome (metro, bus, tram, taxi...), which is important to know, since the main attractions of the city are quite far from each other. It's an old patrician building with very spacious rooms and bathrooms with high ceilings. Although the furniture is simple, you will get a feeling of luxury thanks to the atmosphere, the excellent quality of air in the rooms and the small extras offered (extra pillows and plaids in the wardrobe), a lot of towels at the disposal of the guests, the silent location etc.

The hotel is very clean with hygienic parquets on the floor and lots of soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly in the room. The staff is welcoming and friendly - a special thank you to Fabio in the reception and the smiling lady in the breakfast area!

Since it's an old patrician apartment building, some minor issues may occur. For example in the room we had, the water didn't evacuate properly and it was difficult to get a warm shower (the water being too cold or too warm). But the only deception was really the breakfast, which is close to nothing. We were in Rome just before the busy Easter holidays and paid a quite high price for the room, but it was worth the price with the exception of the very poor breakfast.

In conclusion, I would still say that this hotel was a different and pleasant surprise in a city like Rome, where it's actually quite difficult to find a good hotel to a reasonable price.

We have just enjoyed three nights at this hotel with its friendly, welcoming staff. Clearly Termini is not the most charming area of Rome but we chose it for the obvious advantage of being close to the station for our onward journey to Naples. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk to most tourist attractions but we were happy to walk rather than travel on the metro - you miss the beautiful architecture when travelling in a tunnel! Our room on the second floor was immaculate, modern bathroom with plenty of towels and the shower had good pressure with no shortage of hot water. Security was excellent, safe worked well and the double glazing kept out the noise on the street - and it can be noisy. Someone in the vicinity had their television blaring until 6 or 7am on two of the nights but earplugs did the trick. Did not bother to complain as this was not the hotel's fault and I had noted that other people had mentioned it so had the earplugs at the ready. Italian hotel breakfasts are not what we choose to eat at home but at least here it was fresh from a bakery and not in little prepackaged bags as at many hotels in Italy. Coffee was very good. All in all a great stay but if in Rome again we would probably stay where we have stayed in the past, near the Colosseum. If only we could pick this hotel up and move it there.

Me and my parents stayed in the hotel for 3 nights few days ago. It was difficult to choose a place to stay in rome, since its so many of them there. I knew we are going to arrive to Rome pretty late in the night, so I tried to find some good hotel close to Termini stations, so we dont have to walk a lot. This hotel has a perfect location, just about 4 minutes walking from the bus stop. There is a metro station, so you can get wherever you want very quickly, but its also possible to walk to every attraction, for example colosseum is like 20 minutes by foot. The room we got was very nice, quite big, quiet and lot of space for everything. I was especially surprised by how nice the bathroom looked, it is always very important for me to have a nice bathroom. The room also had a TV and fridge, and there was a good internet connection. Wifi is in the price. We were 3 people staying int he room, my parents had a normal double bed, my bed was just put there, so I was little bit afraid of the quality, but again I was surprised how good it was to sleep on it. Room was cleaned every day and I felt like they really did clean the place ( not like in some hotels, where they just sweep the floor and make the beds )The breakfast is also included in the price, it was very basic but very nice. Nice coffee- espresso or cappuccino, water, cereals, tea and fresh pastries. What I cant forget to write about is the staff on the reception, they were very nice. I wrote them in january that we are coming late at night, and they remembered it, and when we were trying to find the place, one of them were standing in front of the hotel waiting for us. Very nice of them! And the last night before we were leaving, i asked about the breakfast, since we were leaving early in the morning, so he gave us a coupon for free coffees in the breakfast place that was close to the hotel. During the stay, we really didnt have a single problem. I am happy with the choice i made and I would deff. recommend this hotel to everybody.

Room Tip: After reading some reviews i choose a hotel facing a courtyard, cause there is a market from 6 am on...
