We spent 2 nights at the radisson in rome as part of a 10th wedding anniversary trip. Looked cool on the website. Check in took 20 minutes and the queue management was atrocious as people appeared from everywhere to jump to the desk first. That night we were cleared away from the pool area as it was being used for a 'prior engagement'...some sort of function...nothing was mentioned at time of booking. So didn't get use of pool - reason why we booked that place. Room (we'd booked a superior room)was clean, small, trendy but overlooked Termini station (not the ideal view)...and we were astounded that breakfast was not included and so would cost another 19 euro each (two nights was already costing us 400 euro!!). It's handy to the station but that's all...a long walk from the city centre through dark streets to get back at night. All in all way overpriced and staff are uninterested at best. No one at any stage asked if everything was alright. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Beware of Breakfast Buffet

I should begin by saying that the Radisson is a great hotel with mostly great staff. The one complaint I had was that when we checked in at 6:30 AM the front desk staff told us that we could go up and have breakfast while we waited for our room to be ready. However, what he did not say was that the breakfast buffet costs 25 euro per person per day. My friend and I had a 75 Euro breakfast bill when we checked out! I don't think there is any breakfast that is worth 25 Euro. When I checked the website, some rooms include the breakfast buffet, but many didn't. Take it from me, make sure to ask how much that breakfast buffet is before you sit down and eat!

First of all, please read the review that says that this is located near the exit of the airpot train, they are right. Do not walk to the entrance of the station and look for it, it is literally 2 blocks from the head of the train.

That said, the hotel is very professional and comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and clean, the shades provide for a very nice sleeping environment and the bathrooms are nice (not as strange as others reviewers make them out to be). The staff at the desk is fluent in English and very helpful. The one restaurant recommendation I received from the desk clerk was for a real restaurant and not a tourist ripoff.

The best is the rooftop pool and bar. Having arrived from a 12 hour flight from Chile I welcomed the opportunity to relax and slip into the cool water while waiting for my espresso. The entire staff on the roof seems to think that they are part of the social scene rather than servants of the socialites, so they may decide to take their time with some guests, but be polite and efficient with others.

There are some problems with the minimalist design as I had to change rooms since my "button-key" failed to work and they couldn't fine the mechanical key. Others had problems with the automatic shades not closing, and the wireless went down the day I left. Still, if you want an excellent homebase from which to explore Rome, this is the place.

At the same time, the roof scene is so much fun that you not want to leave, especially with a great view of the city.

This is a nice hotel but some of the fixtures are starting to fray at the edges with the rooms needing some refreshing, that said it is funky and there are lots of gizmos to play with. The bath/showers are excellent and the toilets more discreet then some of the reviews suggest.

If you get the Leonardo Express from the airport and go down the steps at the end of the platform (there is a lift) and turn left you are 20 metres from the rear entrance of the hotel, how convienient is that!

The imeadiate area is abit scruffy but nothing scary.

We were there when it was 38 degrees this week and the 7th floor pool and bar is both stunning and a life saver, the price of a beer is the same as in most bars in Rome so not the rip off in some similar hotels.

All in all a good package and we would go back.

We stayed for 4 nights in May 2005 while honetmooning. The room was excellent standard and very modern. The hotel services and staff were very helpful and the hotel pool on the roof was a nice escape from the hustle and bussle of Rome after a long day sightseeing.
Its very close to the main train station and there is a metro station just a 2 minute walk away that saves you having to go to the main crowded stop.

Would use this hotel again if we go back to rome.
