Some people rave about this hotel being great because of its location i.e. proximity to Termini station. When you come out of termini you will find it difficult to find this hotel. After arriving in Termini exhausted after flight and train you will need to walk up a steep street which is absolutely filthy. Graffiti everywhere, refuse bins all on the streets. Eventually you discover the Radisson's back entrance! The main entrance is on the other side but the front still leaves alot to be desired.

A luke warm welcome awaits you at reception. I booked a superior / business class room with a balcony. I was expecting a nice modern roomy interior with a balcony you could sit out on. Dream on! Room was tiny and the whole idea of putting the shower and wash area in the room itself just didnt work. There is also no wardrobe space just somewhere to hang you clothes in full view of any housemaids. The balcony is tiny and there is nowhere to sit.

There were a few postives, the bed was quite comfortable although that might have been the fact that I had travelled from ireland on two hours sleep and was shattered upon arrival. The air conditioning is brilliant and will have the room like a ice box if you want which was a great relief from the 30c + temp outside. I ordered some room service and have to say the food was quite good and tasty.

I decided to stay the night and see how i felt about the place the next morning once i had got some sleep. However I decided to change hotel the next day and even though they could have charged for an additional night the hotel were very receptive and said I would just have to pay the one night.

Overall the hotel is not bad for a quick business trip but it is definitely not a five star I would say 3 star pushing maybe to four star. The worst was the cleanliness of the rooms, poor fronty desk service( when I went to check out the were 4 men behind the desk but only one could deal with check in/out and i still do not know what the other 3 "stagliare" were standing around there for?) and the poor image / dodginess of the surrounding area.

"That's your hotel up ahead," the cabbie said as we headed down a narrow Roman strada.

"You mean the one that looks like a prison?"

"Yes," he laughed. "That one."

"Do they issue numbered jumpsuits along with the slippers when you check in?"

Seriously, this is one strange looking hotel. At night, the rooms are framed in multicolored, neon lights which give the facade of the place an incongruous "Hollywood Squares" look. You expect to find Judy Jetson sitting behind the odd reception "desk" which is actually a cloth-covered (and rather dirty) donut-shaped enclosure lit from within. The staff and engineering personnel (our air-conditioner wouldn't come on) were all gracious and willing to help but I have never encountered such a badly-designed hotel room. Like others have said in their reviews, the tub was in the center of the room, enclosed by frosted glass, seriously cutting down on the square footage. In many hotels now, the air conditioning and lights come on when you place your room card/key into a slot inside the room and turn off when you remove it. In this room, hanging off the wall like a collapsed lung, was a ilttle inflatable egg-shaped fabric lamp like nothing I have ever seen before. When you enter, this lamp turns on and a small interior fan begins to inflate it until it becomes about the size of a small, glowing pillow. It serves no useful purpose but to be annoying, as you can't read by it, and the whir of the electric motor is constantly keeping it inflated. I'd have to say that this lamp kind of symbolized the entire Radisson/Rome experience for me. Modernity sans comfortability. The hotel sits on the edge of central Rome in a neighborhood just in back of the main train station. There is a gritty feel to the area, and graffiti is everywhere. However, graffiti is everywhere else too, so don't let that swing your opinion. If you can get a good rate, I'd give this hotel a shot. Otherwise, I'd spring for something along the Via Nazionale where you will encounter a more pleasant environment. There is one big redeeming feature to this place - the rooftop pool area. It is nicley designed and relaxing. There is a bar up there too. I suggest downing a couple of shots at the pool before they take you to your room.

Dear Reviewer,
thank You for the feedback, wich we found indeed original and enjoiable in reading.
Thanks for having spent good words on the service, and for having pointed up some plus we offer, with the rooftop pool and particular modern atmosphere of the house. It's clear You didn't had a fairly good impression of Hotel comforts. We do respect Your opinion, and we'd like to have another chance to enjoy the whole of the package, may be in a different kind of room among the categories we offer.
And, of course, we'll be glad to offer You in that occasion a couple of shots at the pool bar.
Thank You

The previous reviewers said it all. Stayed there for a business conference June 12-14, 2009 Tiny rooms, a bizarre shower as a headboard. I could not get the curtains all the way around therefore getting the floor all wet, peeling paint...... I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Scandanavian minimalism gone amok...... It does have free wireless internet though which is unusual for European hotels

Another stay (3 nights) at the Radisson Es as part of a business trip. It remains a very convenient hotel in the city centre (although the area especially at the back near the station is a bit dodgy) and of course if you're into design this is the place.
Rooms are not huge (20 sqm) but well-fitted and with a comfortable bed. The Overall atmoshphere is pleasant but the hotel can be busy at times with many conferences and corporate events - where this becomes less acceptable is when that prevents access to the bar or Restaurant.
There seems to be a recurring problem with getting the front desk to answer the phone: Room service requires letting the phone ring for over one minute and the same happens for external calls to your room - so this is NOT the 100% satisfaction promised. One gets a feeling of the problem when checking in and out with waiting times not up to standards.
The Hotel may offer you his Limo to get you to the Airport: just remember it is 55€ whilst Taxis have a fixed charge of 40€ (which they will generally negotiate up at 45€), so the Limo, which is a minivan is only useful if there are several of you with bulky luggage - The Hotel will call you a 'normal' taxi with an indentification ticket upon request though (if you can access the front desk, that is ...)

Dear Reviewer,
Thank You for Your feedback.
Much kind of You the good rating despite the issues You experienced.
That means You gave us chances to improve our services, and start positive changes in the organization.
Indeed, we may busy at times, but the service doesn't have to suffer for this.
We'd like to have You as appreciated guest one or many more times again, in order to make the rating and Your satisfaction rise even more.
Thank You

Not knowing where to stay in Rome and the level of quality of the hotels, I decided that the Radisson would be a safe bet as I have stayed with them in other countries before. The distance from the main train station is great (although the area has a ghetto feel to it and you don't feel like you are in Rome) and that is where it ends. They have attempted to make the rooms look new and modern but have only achieved a trashy feel. The toilet has a slightly frosted glass door so no privacy. The shower is a cubicle in the middle of the room with slightly frosted glass (maybe romantic and sexy for a couple, but not so good for two friends sharing a room). The head boards of the beds kept on falling off. The entertainment system did not work. There is room climate controls but they are fake and there is only one setting for each floor so you die of heat. You can't sleep with the windows open due to the noise from the station. When complaining about the temperature it took them 2 days to move us to a cooler floor. And to top it off even in the second room, the head boards were falling off and generally the quality was about a 2 star level. The attractions are within walking distance if you are fit and willing to walk many miles to get to them.
At the end of the stay as compensation (after a complaint) I was offered a free nights stay next time I return to Rome, but what I tried to explain is that the hotel is awful so why would I voluntarily stay there again?!? Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
