Surrounded by beautiful, old architecture, the modern lines of the Radisson stand out like a sore thumb. While close the the train station that we needed to access to reach Civitavecchia and the Port, a cab had to be taken to reach any of the usual Roman must-sees.
The room was disappointing and tired, but most disappointing was the service: while everyone was very polite and friendly, the staff was clearly UNDER-staffed and getting room service required a trip to the restaurant since no one would answer the phone either at the front desk or in Room Service.
I will certainly find some place else to stay next time in Rome.

I have stayed in the Radisson Rome in April 2008. Despite of the bad reviews I’ve read about this hotel, I decided to bring my family there.
The location isn’t the best, it’s not like ur surrounded by beautiful monuments and amazing restaurants.

The hotel’s design is very different, very modern, but not much pratical, but it was a nice experience to stay in such a modern place.
The rooms are very simple, too simple in my opinion, but comfortable and are very clean! I always check if everything is clean in a hotel, and in this one I couldn’t find any mistake!

The food at the restaurant isn’t bad either, but I was expecting something more..italian! the lasagna my husband asked for was like the frozen ones you buy in the supermarket.
the waiters were nice and the service was very well coordinated.
The reception staff was very helpful, our check in was made by Melissa, always smiling and helping us with all the details, an amazing english (never expected that in italy) it was the first time we were always treated by our names and always asked about our stay.
The room service was ok but the food during the night was really poor, I’d rather go and buy something outside…

It was a pleasant stay, but it could have been better, maybe we’ll come back

Great location - walking distance of the many sites plus easy to get to buses, metro and the station. It's worth visiting the market opposite the hotel and the local mainly Asian shops - this was a nice surprise.
Quirky room - interesting design, not everything is practical, bath / shower room isn't private which could be an issue for some.
Hotel is has a number of surprises because of its design and decor.
Very good breakfast.
Great rooftop pool.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
If you want a normal 4 star hotel that could be in any city in the world then go somewhere else - if you want a slightly different experience with some pleasant surprises but where you may have to compromise on some things then this hotel is worth a try.
This trip to Rome was a present to my daughter - the hotel was a special part of it.

Hotel was undeserving of 3 stars. Seating area in reception is marked on the head rest and the seat...looks like dried liquid. They are fabric though - and clearly well used, although not by us. Shabby rooms

Night time - we felt intimidated by the groups of grown men and beggars and didn't venture for long due to this
Area is dead at night - the restaurants were virtually empty and expensive for what was basic cheap food
The mini bar was extortionate - 7 euros for a coke!!! 12 for a spirit AND 4 euro for a very small water.
The bath was effectively in the bedroom, separated by a glass partition - the door of which would not close as the wooden slab which the bed and bath were both housed in had warped. Dangerous. No wardrobe - a hanging steel pole with 6 hangers on it.
Torn blind - also it was blackened and dirty
Dirty 'tide' mark all around the bottom of the walls (as there are no skirting boards) Nowhere to sit aside from a metal half bench with a stained 1/4 inch grey pad on it.
Breakfast was OK
Didn't use room service - given the 7euro charge for a coke from the mini bar - we were afraid to Staff were pleasant enough though.....
