“Good Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2005

This is a nice hotel but some of the fixtures are starting to fray at the edges with the rooms needing some refreshing, that said it is funky and there are lots of gizmos to play with. The bath/showers are excellent and the toilets more discreet then some of the reviews suggest.

If you get the Leonardo Express from the airport and go down the steps at the end of the platform (there is a lift) and turn left you are 20 metres from the rear entrance of the hotel, how convienient is that!

The imeadiate area is abit scruffy but nothing scary.

We were there when it was 38 degrees this week and the 7th floor pool and bar is both stunning and a life saver, the price of a beer is the same as in most bars in Rome so not the rip off in some similar hotels.

All in all a good package and we would go back.

“Great Service and Standard!”

We stayed for 4 nights in May 2005 while honetmooning. The room was excellent standard and very modern. The hotel services and staff were very helpful and the hotel pool on the roof was a nice escape from the hustle and bussle of Rome after a long day sightseeing.
Its very close to the main train station and there is a metro station just a 2 minute walk away that saves you having to go to the main crowded stop.

Would use this hotel again if we go back to rome.

“If You Like Mod You Must Stay Here!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2005

What an amazing hotel! It is what it is, a very modern, sleek, stylish, minimal hotel that will NOT cater to all travelers, that is those seeking an overstuffed, corporate cookie-cutter hotel room with pattern crazed decor. Public spaces are expansive and creatively furnished, my standard room well layed out with luxury touches, cool gadgets and a huge soaking tub with logical shower. Staff was friendly, courteous and responsive, a call to check my CD player was answered and repaired in minutes, and a non-working room key replaced on the spot with TWO keys. The exercise room and spa area are more typical of a resort, and the top floor outdoor bar was the perfect space to entertain friends, what a view! Stayed for 4 very hot Roman days (5/27-5/31) and the rooftop pool came in very handy. Yes, the surrounding area is not the Champs Elysees, but it is incredibly handy for all modes of public transportation. Plus if adventurous there are a few local bars/eateries worth visiting, especially to watch local foot traffic at night. I have recommended this place to everyone I know. The Radisson SAS will be my home in Rome on all future trips. MS-Chicago IL

“a convenient, cool and stylish haven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2005

We stayed at the Radisson SAS Rome for 3 days (31 May - 3 June) before our cruise and were so pleased with our choice! The location is so convenient - a few steps from the Termini where the Leonardo Express trains from the airport arrive, the Metro and the double decker tourist buses. The hotel is cool, calm, stylish and elegant. After a hot and noisy day touring the hectic streets and sights of Rome, the ethereal music filling the lobby was most welcoming. Best of all, the roof deck with a pool, bar and restaurant overlooking the city was the perfect place to decompress and refresh - a haven! The staff was professional and helpful - calling taxis and making restaurant reservations. The rooms are fun and full of gadgets and switches, with soft and fluffy bedding and nice toiletries. I really don't understand any of the negative reviews about this hotel - as a jaded New Yorker I really enjoyed it! The hotel is not located in the most elegant part of town and perhaps that can be off-putting for those of the "Holiday Inn mentality" - but anyone with any bit of city savvy and a willingness to embrace the Roman experience will be cooling their feet in the pool with a Camapari and soda and say "aaaahhh...".

“Wow! What a hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2005

Just back from a fantastic 4 night stay with my boyfriend at the beautiful Radisson SAS hotel in Rome and WOW what a place this is. From stepping into the reception, I instantly knew this was a different class of hotel than the usual 4/5 star hotels we have stayed in. I am not usually a fan of an ultra modern hotel, but this was completed with such perfection it was hard to fault. Although it is set out a bit from all the major attractions, the literal 2 minute walk to the Termini train, bus and metro station provided us with excellent and frequent transport all over the city. Staff were welcoming, extremely friendly and helpful and the pool deck/bar are qiute literally out of this world! The small drawback was that our room balcony faced onto the Termini train lines, however, the noise was not much of a problem at all. Overall, I would without doubt recommend the Radisson SAS, especially in the summer months to take advantage of the stunning pool area.
