Our recent stay at the hotel ws very nice. the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful and madfe our stay there as comfortable as possible. however the rooms were a little smaller than expected as per the website pictures. on the whole though we had a lovely holiday.
Very clean, friendly staff, hotel located within walking distance of everything .
Of course great hotels have always been social ideas, flawless mirrors to the particular societies they service.
I call this Paradise in Earth

Booked this B&B based on previous reviews. Slightly worried as we had a terrible experience with the Terravision coach from Ciampino airport. After buying tickets, we had to wait close to two hours for the coach under the sweltering heat. A lady asked for a refund which they rudely ignored. When the coach came, everyone swarmed forward cutting queue and the Terravision staff calmly ignored the fact.

Anyhow, it was a quick 5-10 minute walk to the hotel and although slightly put off by the ancient lift (by the end of our stay, I thought the lift was quaint and charming), we were quickly reassured by our welcome to the B&B. She quickly showed us to our rooms, gave us a map pointing out the local attractions and showed us the little breakfast area where we proceeded to have a refreshing cup of tea.

The location is central, close to Termini. We walked everywhere except for the Vatican and Trastevere when we used the Metro and bus respectively.

Breakfast was basic but adequate with lovely danish pastries. We liked the help yourself idea and the continuous tea and coffee throughout the day was brilliant.

The room was very clean, new and well-kept. They cleaned the room daily and changed the towels every alternate day. Admittedly, their english was limited but enough to understand basic requests. There is no one around in the evenings which was fine by us as it gave us more independence.

We sorted out our check-out easily the day before we left and they booked a cheap limo service to the local airport which was on time. All together, I would definitely return to his B&B.

The only thing to note is NOT to use Terravision to and from the airport and be wary of rip off restaurants especially around the Vatican city.

Have stayed at several hotels in Rome. For price, service and location this is the best. We stay for a week and everything was perfect.

Pros and cons - Pros: Great looking rooms, clean and roomy and well appointed. Very unusual setting on 4th floor of huge old building. Quaint antique elevator or flights of wide, long stairs. Makes you feel like you are in the 'real' Rome. The bed linens were fabulous - smelled so fresh and felt so smooth that you wanted to stay in bed instead of investigate Rome! Good continental breakfast and all day choice of drinks, yogurts etc..Breakfast room cute. Wonderfully informative staff who had all sorts of Rome tips. Good location - within walking distance of coliseum and other sites. Small shops, restaurants nearby. Cons - the first room I was in had no hot water at various times during my stay. Of course these times were in the morning before I left and at night when I returned. As staff was only available during the mid morning I had no recourse but had to deal with cold showers. It was especially irritating as they admitted they knew about this problem before I came but said nothing as they were trying to fix it. After a day of trying to fix the problem (and another night/morning of cold water) my room was switched. The new room on a higher floor had great water and was lovely but had no wireless connection. As with the water I was told there were sometimes problems with this and they were trying to fix it....I ended up bringing my computer into the breakfast room anytime I needed an internet connection. I would stay here again - everything else was wonderful - but I would get specific reassurances in writing that I was getting a room that has internet and constant hot water. I really felt they should have offered a substantial discount for the problems they knew about but hoped I would not notice. So I would get a refund guarantee in advance to make certain they gave a working room.

  • Liked — beautiful rooms and breakfast room
  • Disliked — some rooms not very sound proof - you can easily hear when others get up and eat

I cannot believe places like tis still exist
this was possibly the worst stay ever
reception terrible
no information
we were checking out early and informed them but when we got up the janotor was fiddling with the awful powdered drinks machine and we couldnt have anything atall
so no breakfast!!! at 7am
the room seems to of been repaired with a roll of sticky tape
loose light switches
the well stocked fridge consisted of a bottle of water,a tin of lemon tea and 2 tiny bottles of juice
overall a very poor quality place and not recommended

  • Liked — nothing
