We have just returned from a four day anniversary celebration break in Rome. After searching the internet for hotels and bed and breakfasts in Rome, at short notice (we booked two days before we flew), we decided on the Boncompagni Suite. The reviews had been excellent and the photos looked good. We booked a double room and paid a very reasonable £325 for 4 nights. We arrived an hour before the check in time, and nothing was too much trouble for the receptionist, who said the room was ready, we could go straight to it just as soon as she'd looked at a passport. She checked the passport and completed a couple of details on a form and gave it me back straight away. We didn't have to show a booking form at all. We were taken straight to our rooms and given information about breakfast and general info. Breakfast is served between 8.00am and 9.00am (you choose each evening beforehand what time you want it the next day) and is continental and brought to your room on a tray. Each day we had juice, tea (we were offered coffee of all types, but prefer tea), sweet pastries, crackers, toast, jams and spreads, and biscuits - all beautifully presented. The room was en-suite, with a walk in shower, toilet, bidet and basin, and the floor and walls all marble tiled. The bedroom was large with a tiled floor, wardrobe, writing desk, chairs, large bed and smaller chair/bed if you had an extra person to stay. The window was large and double glazed and the bed and curtains all matched. Both receptionists (one female and one male) were so polite and helpful - always attentive and kind. The road the suite is on is just below the park and is a good walk away from the very centre of Rome, but worth it. We walked miles each day touring the sites, so an extra bit was no problem. We would not hesitate to stay here again, and would recommend it to all.
