The AGV 2001 B&B, Rome is situated about 10-15 mins walk from the Vatican Museum. It was quite easy to find once we got our bearings right (coming out of the Metro stop at Cipro Vaticani). Stayed there for 4 nights in mid-Sept. The B&B was excellent - it's actually and apartment but Rugerro lets out 2 rooms. The owner, Ruggero, was very nice and helpful. When we arrived, he gave us some information (he had printouts prepared) on where to go, what bus no. to take, etc. It costs EUR 80 a night with a small tv in the room (only Italian channels, no CNNs/BBCs), breakfast (not so great - I suggest buying fruits and bread from the market nearby) and free internet access. Everything about the room - from the pillow to the bed & bedsheets & attached bath and toilet - was very clean comfortable. The room looked new. We were very happy and satisfied with our stay after 1 week of staying in crappy 1 star budget hotels in the other places in Europe. It's a bit far off from all the other main, historical attractions in Rome but we loved it cos 1) every morning, there's a little market near the apartment that sells CHEAP fresh fruits, vege, assortments of bread and food etc; 2) it's close to the best ice-cream in Rome (highly recommended by Rugerro and we totally agree with his recommendations) 3) a laundarette is located at the next street behind the B&B; 4) there a nice ristorante where you can find reasonably priced food (and it's quite nice); 5) It's not crowded as compared to the Termini. Once you're there, it's relatively easy to get around either by Metro or Bus (which is normally packed the nearer you get to the Termini). We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B and will definitely return! Thanks Rugerro and Barbara for your warm hospitality.
