The Nicolas Inn was in an amazing location and the owners are unbelieveably helpful and friendly.

My husband and I stopped off at Nicolas Inn during a fairly jammed packed holiday around Europe for 4 nights. Melissa (one of the owners) gave us great sight seeing advice on what to see, how to avoid queues for the major sights and even some sites that are not on the map, like the bone church.

The room and bathroom was huge but a little noisy with street traffic...but you put up with it considering the location - 5 minutes walk to the colossuem, 10 min walk to Trevi fountain. We walked everywhere including the Vatican which took an hour...depends on how adventurous you are feeling. The only time we used transport was taxi from the airport and bus to the train station (which Melissa told us where the bus stopped outside the hotel, which bus number we wanted and where to buy tickets...you really cant beat local knowledge - especially a local who speaks perfect English).

Melissa also gave us Restaurant recommendations - make sure you try the pizza place nearby that Melissa recommends, it was by far the best I have ever had.

Stay here...you wont regrete it.

This lovely little place has only four rooms---all of which are very nicely appointed and spacious. They have en suite baths and refrigerators as well as flat screen TVs showing CNN International. The couple who own & run the establishment are jewels--he is Italian and she is American. They are friendly, knowledgeable and eager to serve the needs of their guests.

The physical location of the hotel was ideal---easy walk to the Metro, the Coliseum, Imperial & Roman Forums, etc. In fact we strolled to St. Peter's, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, etc, and found the
walk refreshing and enlightening. While those who require the amenities of a full service hotel would be better served elsewhere, we were delighted with our stay at Nicholas Inn. We would be very disappointed if we were unable to book it on future visits. In fact, I like to think that we have made new friends in the Nicholases.

This sweet little place is located just a block from the Roman Coliseum. The rooms are small, but comfortable and clean. Breakfast is at a cafe a few doors away. What makes the place special is the friendliness and helpfulness of Melissa and François. They gave us lots of useful suggestions and advice for restaurants and sights.
