Hotel Anagnina provides a nice, clean room that is convenient to Rome's smaller, Ciampino Airport. BE AWARE that you must take a bus or taxi from Rome's Anagnina Metro stop to the actual Anagnina Hotel. Hotel Anagnina is NOT WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE METRO!! The Anagnina front desk personnel-especially, Mr. Herman William-are very efficient and speak several languages, fluently. Breakfast buffet was GREAT-included several fresh fruits, breads, and hot dishes. Best of all...Hotel Anagnina provided a FREE shuttle to Airport Ciampino--about a 10 minute ride from hotel. The shuttle is available upon request. We showed our appreciation to the driver with a nice tip.

  • Liked — Access to Ciampino Airport
  • Disliked — Unable to walk from Anagnina Metro stop to the hotel
  • Tips/Secrets: — Your Rome metro ticket can be used to ride the bus to Anagnina Hotel--NO EXTRA CHARGE!

We stayed at the Anagnina for 4 nights in May. We took a taxi from Ciampino airport which is only 10 mins away, the driver said it would be 30 euros but we haggled him down to 20 euros before getting in!
The hotel is spotless, large rooms, nice bathrooms, fridge and free safe in the rooms.
The buffet breakfast was great, an extensive choice of hot and cold food.
The shopping mall adjacent is ok. Make sure you eat in Rome before returning to the hotel as there is no restaurant at the hotel and only a small cafe bar in the mall. Ikea has a good cafe and is open until 10pm.
We found Anagnina metro station very run down and not the type of place to be after dark. We always made sure we were back at the hotel by around 9pm. The metro into the centre of Rome only costs 1 Euro. There are frequent buses from the metro to the hotel, which is only 1 stop away but not very accessible by foot.
Ask at reception to book the courtesy bus back to Ciampino airport (they do not advertise this).
If you are looking for a comfortable and clean hotel at a good price and do not mind being in a commercial area and travelling 30 mins by metro into Rome then I can highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for a night. Its a nice hotel and the location in the mall makes it perfect for shopping and it is not far by metro from the Rome attractions. There is a supermarket too if you run out of mineral water or food.We arrived from Charleroi and took the bus to anagnina station. The bus fare was one euro per person. We did not see any taxi in the anagnina metro/bus station but the hotel can be reached by bus from the anagnina station. The bus service is good.Do not attempt to walk. The bus drivers do not know the hotel. Just say that you want to go to Ikea or the commercial centre and they will tell you which bus to take. The bus ride takes five minutes and stops just outside the mall and its a 2-3 minute walk to the hotel. Its economical to buy a day pass(24 hours) which can be used for bus/metro. It cost only 5 euros and can be bought at the small tabac/newspaper shop at the metro station. The hotel also sell the tickets. The best thing about the hotel is that it provides free shuttle servive to Ciampino airport for our early morning flight to Valencia and packed us our breakfast! You need to pre- book with the receptionist. The male receptionist during the early morning when we were checking out was not too friendly but the day receptionist was very nice and checked us in although we arrived before noon. The rooms were cleaned and confortable and although they do not have a family room, they were able to add an extra bed for my 11 year old daughter. I would stay here again. The hotel is usually fully booked and you have to try to book with several agents.

We stayed in the Anagnina hotel for 3 nights. The rooms were spacious & very clean, the staff friendly & helpful and there was everything you could possibly want for breakfast. The location was good as it is fairly close to the airport but just a metro ride from Rome city. (buses to the metro station pick up from opposite the hotel every few minutes)
We would definitely stay there again.

Stayed in this hotel three nights in December 2005. The hotel is OK. Very clean rooms of larger than average size. Rate was OK as well. Easily reachable from Ciampino Airport by bus for 1 Euro. There is a supermarket in the mall right behind the hotel and an IKEA right behind that (if you fancy hot dogs). Breakfast was much more choice than most Rome hotels. Full buffet breakfast that enables you to skip lunch :-). The hotel is rather far away from the city center on the ring road, however the center is easily - and cheaply - reached on Metro A. Be aware that the metro stops to run early currently (Around 9 o'clock) until January 10 2006. On the downside, the beds had a tendency to slide across the laminate floor, which could get on your nerves and since it is near to major roads it is not particularly quiet. But if you can live with that it is not a bad choice.
