ideal location for sight seeing, metro, within walking distance for tourist attractions such as spanish steps, trevi fountain.
rooms were clean, tidy no issues with theft as reported in previous reviews (never seen them before our stay!). with a big tap also in the bathroom!
But trying to find the hotel for the 1st time is hard as no signage on the outside of the building except for a name on the secure entry system of the apartment block the hotel is situated in. the hotel is situated on the grd floor. if your arriving at the hotel from the barberine metro stop walk up Via del Quattro fontane on the left hand side and the hotel is just past the Barberine art gallery . approx a 5 min walk with cases. you could trek up and down the whole road looking for it. if you come to a cross roads after the Barberine art gallery you have gone too far. if your looking for it on street finder the apartment block has a dark green door.
Breakfast each morning was a lottery, it became funny trying to guess what variation of the set breakfast that would arrive. but what ever came tasted great. guess it just added to the holiday!
We had no issue with street noise during the rush hour or late night as the double/triple glazzing seems to do its job.
mini bar stocked with water, no price list though 2 euro a bottle, though small shop open across the road.
Staff were helpful and polite.
Hotel is good value for money considering the location and rome prices
Would go back and stay agan.
The area itself is safe and clean.
The tour bus stop is also beside the barberine metro in the sq. various bars and resturants nearby also from local types to the hard rock cafe with some open to 2am

We found a great little place for food/drinks a couple of mintues from the hotel, on Via Resalla, 3/4 the way down the hill on the left the bar/restarant Albrecht. good value set menu , 3 course for 15 euros, service is brilliant by rome standards also!. They have the local football on the tv in the back, football, beer, pizza great chill out time. plenty of locals also seem to eat here as well. again if looking for it on street finder the place has been cleaned up since the view was taken.

Thank god my husband and I only planned on staying here one night prior to the end of our trip. The hotel is not clearly marked and spans the space of one hallway. There is one old man (out of a creepy movie) who works at the front desk and never leaves. He barely speaks English and tried to rip us off at the end of the trip when we asked for him to arrange a TAXI for us to get to the airport in the morning. In the morning a carservice came in to take our belonging and my husband watched the old man behind the desk and the car service driver exchange money. We obviously refused to drive in this car and the the driver cursed us out and went back inside in a huff.

The hotel itself is tiny and dirty. Our comforter had holes in it and was dirty and the hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. The shower in the bathroom did not drain and the water subsequently went over onto the floor of the bathroom. The hotel looks out onto a parking lot. We did not eat the in house breakfast provided because we were concerned about the quality of the food and getting sick.

The hotel indicates that it is near the spanish steps and the trevi fountain, however, it must be noted that you have to walk up a fairly big hill at the end of the day (which may be difficult after a day of sightseeing). I would have preferred to stay closer than a 15 minute walk away from everything.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

Do not stay here if you don't speak Italian!

I have stayed in dumpy hotels around the world, and in general, I do not have particularly picky standards. However, much of the criticism left by other people is spot on about this hotel. The hotel is permeated with cigarette smoke and if you have allergies, your stay could very well be miserable. Regardless of what the hotel manager said, the smoke was clearly coming through the window of my room from his smoking down below. The other reviewers' reports of thefts are of great concern to me; I kept my stuff locked up tight so didn't have any problems with that.

The biggest problem is that the staff does not speak English, leaving you wondering what the heck they are thinking. Likewise, the main manager is not very responsive and if there had been a problem, I don't know what I would have done. Trust me, I understand it is Italy and they can speak whatever language they want in their country, but they shouldn't advertise English speaking staff when they don't. If you are fluent in Italian, allowing you to communicate with the staff and don't mind cigarette smoke--which fills the hotel, then this is the place for you.

This was a nice little family run hotel. It is 2 1/2 stars, but we found it to be similar in features to most 3 star places with the exception of services ... ie - they won't book reservations to museums or dinner, etc. However, if you don't mind doing that stuff on your own, it was a nice clean hotel in a good location for a reasonable price.

Continental breakfast was included. I typically had a pastry with a coffee, and my wife typically had tea and cereal. Be sure to ask for milk if you want it as it is separate. The maid/breakfast girl was very nice, and both the older gentleman and his son who run the hotel were great.

Not far from train station, and at the outer edge of the old section of town with most major attractions. It is on top of a hill, so you will have to walk down every morning and walk back up after dinner every night ... not great for popping back into the room at mid-day. However, it is only a couple of blocks from the piazza with the triton fountain where major bus lines to the center of town, and the vatican run, as well as the subway which goes to the colosseum and elsewhere.

No elevator as the hotel is in a historic building, but they do offer to bring your bags up and down. Not a huge room, but not atypical for urban hotels. Desk, windows, bed, spacious armoir for hanging clothes, and drawers for storing smaller things. 1 suitcase stand. Spacious bathroom with bidet and whirlpool tub. We only used the tub to soak our feet after walking around rome. Shower was fine. No shower curtain, but it worked out ok as tub was pretty wide.

A little hard to find. Basic directions get you close, but there is no sign, just a button on the call box with the logo of the hotel. If you have your back to the train station, and pass San Carlo al Quattro Fontana (the church at the four fountains) start looking on the right side of the street. If you get to palazzo barberini (art museum) you have gone too far.

My ipod was stolen from my room. I now notice this is the third review in a row which is reporting a robbery. Maybe there is a new maid, maybe the owner is going through tough time and decided to help himself to visitors' stuff, but the fact is: if you stay in this hotel, there is a very high probability that you will be robbed.
