I honestly did not expect much....

my goodness was I wrong. I was greeted by Rosa and boy did she make me ever feel at home!! Rosa and Melda made me feel so welcomed and "educated" about Rome, I went ahead on my first day taking public transportation (I did get lost for 2 hours but at no fault of theirs....) The location I found to be amazingly convenient, its located RIGHT OUT SIDE THE VATICAN WALL (if standing and looking at St.Peters, it would be to your left)... You cross the street and its the building to your diagonal left. Rosa was so very kind and helpful, she even took the bus from her home to the B&B to open the kitchen to let me use the phone to call home. Melda was something to look forward to seeing in the morning! Breakfast was always on time and delicious!! All sorts of pastries, cereals and crackers (which I even took a few to put in my travel bag in case hunger stikes out of the blue). The room I had WAS HUGE!!! (i'm sorry I didn't catch the door number) but the bathroom was big and chic ( I was really shocked!! they had uber contemporary sinks ). The area was nice and quite and can sleep through the night without a hitch!

I absolutely adore this place and ever more sore Rosa and Melda, If I do ever come back to Rome - They would for sure be one of the reasons all the more to.

*Cheers*

We stayed for a week with Rosa-Maria and Melda. Great location, very comfortable and spotless accomodations. Breakfast was something to look forward to every morning. The ladies are very friendly and always at the ready to assist with anything.
We quickly learned that over 90% of guests here are repeat customers!!
Now we have our place to stay when back in Rome.

I booked the Sun apartment for my husband's birthday based on the reviews in Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed - quite the reverse! All the reviews are accurate - the apartment is spotless and was supplied with a huge bowl of fruit and the fridge stocked with milk, butter, water etc and there were various cereals, biscuits and tea and coffee. Rosa was exceptionally helpful when we arrived ( we too took the transport she offered which was great) and she had also booked the restaurant nearby (San Pietrini) for that evening and the restaurant Matricianella for my husband's birthday. (Both were good). We like walking and found we hardly used our Roma transport pass as the old city is just a really nice walk from the apartment and it is good to walk across the bridges and in the back streets to get the real feel of Rome.
We would definitely book the apartment again.

Very well looked after B&B in a great location only 2 mins walk from St Peter's Square. V close to bus stop to get into the city. Nearby there are a few nice restaurants and handy shops. Delightful hosts as confirmed in all the reviews! Good value. Great breakfasts.

The positive reviews are well deserved, not hype, if a quiet private getaway is the kind of retreat you like. We had a wonderful but too short (2 nights) Roman vacation, and stayed at Al Colonnato di San Pietro. Actually, because we booked so close to our trip, we stayed in the Sun Apartment, in a building about a block away from the B&B, with a mini kitchen (single burner) supplied with some comestibles including biscotti and marmalade, cereal, a heaping bowl of fresh fruit, milk, tea, and coffee, etc. Rosa Maria, the hostess at the B&B, also lets the Sun Apartment and the adjacent Moon Apartment just down the street from the B&B. The room was spacious by European standards, spotless, with a nice bathroom and plenty of privacy. The quiet neighborhood is mostly populated by "locals" as opposed to tourists, so you can get a feel for the real Rome, but it is a very short walk to St. Peter's (San Pietro) Basilica, the Vatican Museum, and also a short trek across the bridge and the Tiber to old Rome. We kept pinching ourselves--can you believe we are sleeping within shouting distance from Michelangelo's Pietà and Sistine Chapel?! In fact, you can hear the bells from San Pietro from the room--what a wonderful alarm clock! From the moment we arrived, exhausted, we were whisked by Mercedes from the airport (we highly recommend the car service Rosa Maria arranged for 40€). We were made to feel comfortable by the warm welcome from Rosa Maria when we arrived at the flat. We tried both of the neighborhood restaurants that she recommended, which were excellent and quite reasonably priced for Rome. One in fact had some of the best pasta we've had in Italy! Rosa Maria and Meldi, her charming assistant, invited us to have a cappuccino to chat and talk politics in the B&B apartment on our last morning there, when we dropped off our luggage, which was a treat. Next time, we will make arrangements earlier and get one of the lovely rooms in the B&B itself (which we took a peek at)!
