The apartment suite is perfect for families. Open the windows and enjoy the sounds of Rome. Great customer service. Great location with easy access to the public transportation. Belive it or not... best cappucchino in Italy at breakfast! The local pizzeria out the back door serves a delicious pizza. Don't miss it!

The best compliment possible.....we will stay here again on our next trip to Rome!!

excellent location, walking distance from the Termini. Typically small Rome rooms, but clean. Friendly, helpful staff.

Me and my wife stayed here for a long weekend at the end of September 2009. It was our first stay in Rome and we found it very convenient and a great stay.

We made getting to the hotel difficult for ourselves, walking about 1 mile past the hotel. The staff were friendly and approchable and best of all for us spoke fluent English. We found the location of the hotel very convenint to the metro and a lot of the main sites in Rome. We didn't use any public transport once we got to the hotel as it was very central.

The hotel has a restauraunt downstairs which was pretty good and had an Irish bar across the street. I was concerned about some people mentioning noise but the windows were very sound proof and if you closed the window properly there was very little noise in the room. The hotel sits just off a busy street in a good area of Rome.

The continental breakfast was very good, albeit that I would prefer a fry. The room service was also very good and I even had clothes folded away that I had left lying around the room. The hotel has free wifi and a laptop in Reception with free internet connection.

In all I could not fault this hotel and would definately book it if returning to Rome.

Hotel is conveniently located near Termini station. FCO airport is 30 mins by express train and will cost you 11 euro per person. Local attractions can be easily accessed by foot or metro. Staff is wonderful and pleasant. Rooms are spacious & clean.

I had reserved the room through bookings.com and everything was perfect. The hotel even accommodated my request for early check-in and 2 beds, which were ready upon my arrival. Access to wi-fi from hotel room was an added bonus.

On my first trip to Rome, I had stayed at a busy 4-star hotel located on the same street - smaller rooms, line-ups to check-in/out, staff not always available to answer your questions. I definitely preferred my stay at Hotel Gea di Vulcano. It's a great place to relax after long days of sightseeing. One thing to note: elevator is very small. If you travel with lots of luggage, you may find this an inconvenience.

Hotel Gea was our last hotel in our three-week trip to Italy with our two granddaughters (ages 19 and 17) and it was just lovely. The building had been a former school a hundred or so years ago and it looked like the rooms inside were all new and remodeled. It was very close to everything, we walked to the Trevi Fountain our first evening (although we like to walk!), but it was very close to the Metro so very convenient. (I would recommend you buy a Roma Pass 25 euros, as it totally paid itself off with all transportation paid for, plus two major attractions paid for, no waiting in lines and discounts for other attractions). The reception staff was wonderful (spoke English), there was free internet, a marvelous breakfast, they took care of a cab for our ride to the airport and were helpful in every way. In the entryway of the hotel is a marvelous fountain (see photo) and the room service provided linens, of course, plus shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, etc. We were very, very happy with our stay at the Hotel Gea.
