A group of friends and I stayed in the Hotel Texas over Easter weekend, sharing the 6 person room with shower & toilet down the hall.
I have since learned to never book a hotel that has no reviews written about it.
Good points:
-good location, right next to la Repubblica, close to train station, but not too close
-room was ok sized
Bad points:
-the shower: there were 3 rooms (24 people), 1 shower. You couldn't even really call it a shower, it was a bath with a handheld trickle, that still managed to soak the rest of the tiny room. 5 days with a shower like this can put you in a very bad mood.
-the toilets: besides the toilet in the shower room, there is only one other, and the sink has only cold water
-Breakfast: we never discovered where the free breakfast could be
-the dodgy manager: everytime we saw him he was trying to make us go to his friend's English pub to have dinner and drinks. He was getting angrier and angrier throughout the stay that we hadn't gone. We did go to have a look at it one night and the door was locked and said members only in Italian. We had to avoid him all holiday because it was getting very intimidating. And whilst another member of staff was checking us in, he stood behind, yelling at him which was very awkward for all of us.
Neither myself nor anyone else who was on the holiday would ever go anywhere near this place again, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
