“Friendly Hotel in Central Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

We needed a last minute place to stay in central Rome after a sudden change of plans, and could not have chosen a friendlier budget hotel. The family running it were extremely helpful, and looked after everything for us. The rooms were clean and tidy, the beds comfortable, and the shower and basin convenient. The shared toilets were off the passage near our rooms, and were always clean. We would definitely stay there again.

Stayed at this place for 4 nights. The staff were really helpful and the location was great. Lots of great places to eat in the area and walking distance to most of the major sites. We stayed in a small room ( VERY SMALL) with a double bed, but the size was ok because there was a shower/sink in the room. It's always more comfortable when you have your own shower. Only thing to note is that there is no shampoo provided so ensure you've got some packed.

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks with a two month old baby. The location was perfect - it is a walking distance from all the major attractions. There are a lot of very nice restaurants and cafes around. You can find all you need very close by. The hotel staff was AMAZING. We loved them! They were so sweet to us and our baby, even thought the baby was crying and i think could have caused them some trouble - but they were so helpful and sweet to us.

We wanted a no-frills hotel with a double bed, in suite bathroom, and a close location to the government building we had an appointment at, as well as to the train station. It's pretty close to the Repubblica metro stop and a bit of a walk to the ancient city (but reasonable and normal).

The room was clean, the furniture was old but it served its purpose. The bed was insanely comfortable, really. I slept really well. They provide you with towels but no hair dryer or iron (unless maybe you ask for one but i'm not sure) so if you need that, it's not in the room. I paid to have the bathroom in the room, and it was clean and the shower was nice.

This is a classic budget hotel, with no amenities (except for free wifi, yes!), but it was a great stay. Especially the beds, y'all.

Room Tip: Don't forget, you must specifically make sure you pay to have the en-suite bathroom.

Great staff, awesome location, very knowledgable and hospitable. It is a no frills hotel but well priced for the backpacker/budget traveler who is moving around a lot. 24 hour reception, no AC but fans in each room.

The best part of Hotel Texas is the INCREDIBLY comfortable beds they have! There is no better place to relax your tired feet after a long day of walking in the Eternal City. We were upgraded to a room with an ensuite bathroom by the hotel owner, who was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The wifi works great in the hotel which is a must for any international traveller. The only problem we had was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, which can make it hard with the Roman heat! The hotel is also an easy and quick walk from the Roma Termini train station, so there's no need for expensive taxis!
