This is a great value hotel - in an excellent location. I travelled for a 4 day break - and was a bit concerned about having to travel on the metro - as have done it before and it can get very crowded. But not a problem - and the bonus of the hotel being very close to both the metro station and the bus terminal.
The hotel itself was very clean and our room was very spacious. Toileteries provided - and proper bath towels - this will strike a chord to those of you reading this who have stayed in low price Italian hotels before!! Crisp cotton sheets and very comfortable beds too. There is a lift - but our bags very carried to our room by one of the excellent, helpful English speaking reception staff.
Breakfast was a real bonus - I have never eaten so well in a budget price hotel! Eggs, cold meat and cheese and array of bread and pastries that you actually see in bakeries! Yoghurt and tinned fruit too.
We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel on the last day of our trip, in a locked luggage storage room - for no cost!
Before I booked, I couldn't decide to book this hotel or one of the ones in the road at the front of Termini - which are dearer than this one - and having stayed in one before, rather crummy. I am so glad I booked this - it was excellent - I would and will stay there again.

Lovley hotel in a peaceful settling after all the noise of the city centre. Ok / Good restaurant round the corner, the pizzas and homemade burgers are amazing. Lovely restaurnat as come out of one of the tube exits. 4 min walk to tube stop Cornelia, which is a 10 min ride to Termini, very convienient.
Staff brilliant, very helpful, room in great condition, great bathroom, could be noise if had the wrong neighbours. Breafast great. Woudl definatly recommend fo rthe price

My wife and I had been looking forward for many years to seeing Rome. We had heard so much about the various sites. The Colluseum, the Vatican Museum and the Trevi Fountain. When my wife informed me she had booked a surprise break for us I was over the moon and counldn't wait to see the sights.

Our first experience of Rome was a taxi ride from the airport to our hotel which cost 55 Euros :-(

That aside on entering the Hotel Waldorf we were met at reception by what could best be described as an indifferent receptionist. I put it down to being tired after my journey and thought tomorrow is another day we are in Rome afterall!

My optimism proved ill founded. The room was dark and dreary and any thoughts of romance were quickly extinguished. We needed some drinking water in the room and when I went to the Hotel Bar I was greeted by the most arrogant young man you could imagine. After he embarrassed me, he 'sent' me with a ticket to reception which I then had to get stamped and return to him before I got my bottle of water :(

After my first night in bed I had bites on my legs from dear only knows what! There was not enough hot water to shave and merely a trickle of hot water out of the shower ... totally inadequate.

The breakfast at least was consistent with our experience thus far and they served tined fruit, can you imagine in a country which exports some of the most delicious fresh fruit in the world. The cheese and 'ham' if that is what it was, was almost inedible. Coffee undrinkable and tasted of water which had been passed through something unspeakable.

Once we left the Hotel however we were happy. Only my wife had to pay up front for it we would not have stayed one night there.

Don't spoil a trip of a lifetime by staying at the Waldorf, I can tell you now you will regret it.

If you don't want to be disappointed don't stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is situated on the outskirts of Rome although near a metro station. It is in need of refurbishment and current colour schemes are dark and depressing. Our room was navy blue and the shower in the morning was barely a trickle and not hot. The buffet breakfast served tinned fruit plus hams and cheese etc,the coffee was undrinkable. This hotel needs to come into the 21st century and provide customers with the type of service and accomodation they have paid for.Rome itself is a beautiful city, don't spoil it by staying in this hotel.

Just returned from a week. Great location. Hotel staff is the best. Always there to help. Leave your room key at the desk when you leave, it is made of brass and very heavy. The room was cleaned everyday, fresh towels and linens. Continental "European" Breakfast included. If you go on a tour before breakfast is ready they will give you a boxed breakfast to take with you, just let them know the night before.
2 blocks from the metro (subway). That will take you everywhere. 5 Restaurants are within walking distance. Coffee bar one block away where you can get cappuccino for 1 euro just across from a grocery store.
The only set back is the room was very small but I only needed a place to sleep as I was there to see Roma. I had no problems with this hotel. I recommend it highly. I plan to go back to Rome next year to complete my site seeing and I would not stay anywhere else. Just remember this is a 3 star hotel in Italy, do not compare it to a 3 star hotel in America. It is a great place to stay.
