If you don't want to be disappointed don't stay at this hotel.The hotel itself is situated on the outskirts of Rome although near a metro station.It is in need of refurbishment and current colour schemes are dark and depressing.Our room was navy blue and the shower in the morning was barely a trickle and not hot. The buffet breakfast served tinned fruit plus hams and cheese etc,the coffee was undrinkable. This hotel needs to come into the 21st century and provide customers with the type of service and accomodation they have paid for.Rome itself is a beautiful city,don't spoil it by staying in this hotel.

Just returned from a week. Great location. Hotel staff is the best. Always there to help. Leave your room key at the desk when you leave, it is made of brass and very heavy. The room was cleaned everyday, fresh towels and linens. Continental "European" Breakfast included. If you go on a tour before breakfast is ready they will give you a boxed breakfast to take with you, just let them know the night before.
2 blocks from the metro (subway). That will take you everywhere. 5 Restaurants are within walking distance. Coffee bar one block away where you can get cappuccino for 1 euro just across from a grocery store.
The only set back is the room was very small but I only needed a place to sleep as I was there to see Roma. I had no problems with this hotel. I recommend it highly. I plan to go back to Rome next year to complete my site seeing and I would not stay anywhere else. Just remember this is a 3 star hotel in Italy, do not compare it to a 3 star hotel in America. It is a great place to stay.

We stayed for 2 long nights in early Sept. After taking a quick dislike to the unhelpful staff, whom were more happy to share attitude than assistance, we were horrified to spend the first night in a bed-bug infested room - (which crept into our luggage and now live in our house!) . The head manager changed our room only after a significant battle...standing in the lobby loudly saying things like "FULL OF BED BUGS" did he agree to move us. Too little too late, but worst of all, they put a new family in the room with the bed bugs! perhaps he just wanted to give them some fresh blood.

Other than that, the drinks are expensive, the breakfast poor and the hotel area shabby. Do yourself a favour, stay somewhere else and tell your friends.

Ignoring people's advice about going to Rome in August, I booked the hotel and flight for 5 nights. Hotel was comfortable, staff really helpful- providing maps, info on tours etc, breakfast was your typical European city break breakfast (bit repetitive but still fine). Only thing was the size of the room- was a bit small. I'm sure if I asked they would have changed rooms but it was fine for me and a friend. Air con leaked but again it was sorted out simply by asking staff. In terms of location, it is very close to the Vatican city by metro. Metro is close to the hotel too but a bit more than the advertised 200m!! Area where the hotel is was fine, no probs about people (although one or two cafes around the main road were a bit dodgy!!) Fantastic restaurant at the end of the road where hotel is called Frankies something, which is open late. Um, not much else really except that from Campo di Fiori which is central rome, cabs to hotel are on 15 for 2 people. Would def recomend hotel if your not fussy about little things!
