i really loved staying in this hotel the staff doesn't speak english, food is ok, sleep quality is poor because of an airport ciampino but all in all it was a really good hotel, i'd definitely reccomend it to anyone, you're in rome not in the hotel

we have used this hotel several times and at different times of year. Yet again service was first class from response to request for courtesy collection from airport at 22.30 hours, within 10 minutes from calling hotel who held restuarant open for us even although we were only customers eating so late. Delicious freshly made pizzas from in house pizza oven with bottle of lovely wine . Reception held our luggage so we could eat before checking in to our very comfortable spacious room . Will definatwly use whenever we are flying late into Ciampino.

Room Tip: Took our mini kettle for early morning cuppa !

In the most important things the Palacavicchi hotel does what's wanted - it's very near Ciampino airport, it runs a reliable shuttle and it's relatively cheap. What's more it's all on the ground floor, which helps with luggage. Don't expect much comfort though. You'll sleep, although probably not very well, and breakfast will be very, very basic, but you'll catch your plane.

We were transferred at this hotel after the one we reserved was overbooked. As a result, we were struck by a series of ups and downs, and that confused us a lot. At some point, we actually wanted to leave the hotel and try find another place to stay, which is highly undesirable when you're travelling for the first time in a city like Rome.

However, the staff was nice and tried to help us at all times, but the communication was very poor and we had a few misunderstandings with them. Even though we had an agreement to pay the price of the room we booked at the previous hotel, the second day they tried to charge us a difference of 20 euro/night to continue staying there. Fortunately we fixed that problem.

Also, the hotel is positioned in the middle of nowhere with no public transportation to take us to the nearest metro line. As a result, we were dependent on the hotel's shuttle bus that charged us 8 euro each to take us to the metro line and back every day. Beware that the bus driver at this hotel takes Mondays off every week for some reason and you have to find your way back to the hotel alone in this situation. For that, you have to take the metro A to Anagnina and from there you have to take a bus that goes to Ciampino Airport. The bus will stop at the train station and then very close to the hotel. If you ask the bus driver, he might take you right in front of the hotel.

Apart from this, the rooms were clean and very quiet, despite the proximity to the airport. The free breakfast was very helpful but you won't like it if you're not into eating fruits and pastries first thing in the morning. Their internet connection is also reliable, but beware that you have to go to the lobby in order to be able to use it. However, the lobby is very welcoming and comfortable.

We would probably stay there again, just because we figured out how to make it work. We would though suggest paying a higher price for a better location. In the end, poor location + shuttle bus + metro card ended up much more expensive than a place near the center would have been.

Room Tip: If the A/C bothers you at night, there is a possibility to set it on low. You will barely hear it an...

Not sure which hotel is in the cover photo but that is not anything like the room we had; look at rest of images to see basic rooms. A quick stay close to the airport is ALL this is good for; but even for this we couldn't sleep half the night as each room had a sliding door and cars/people outside all night. Staff was courteous, letting us use luggage scale and calling cabs for us as shuttle didn't leave as early as we needed to. Wifi only works in lobby. Wouldnt stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel one night. It is close to the airport which is very good for late flight arrivals or early morning flights. They provide very convenient and efficient shuttle bus service to/from the airport for 2.5 euro per person (you just have to give them a call once you arrive at the airport and they come in 10 min. to pick you up) and this is a real bonus (considering the price and the efficiency). Rooms are large, simple, and clean, beds are comfortable, and bathroom is huge. Good buffet breakfast. Sound isolation is pretty good; we were not disturbed by the airplane sounds. Staff at the reception is polite.
Very, very good value for money, I would recommend.
