Our visit to Hotel St. Moritz started badly when I rang the Reception Desk asking for directions and was told to ask someone on the street! The hotel is not very well marked (hence us getting lost) and is accessed through a old, dark door (surrounded by walls covered with grafitti) up two flights of stairs. When we finally made it into our room we were hugely disappointed; it was pokey, dark, faced onto the main road and was situated immediastely behind the Reception Desk so was noisy with very little privacy. However, when we complained about the room we were immediately moved to a much larger room with a garden view.

The rest of the stay was perfectly adequate but nothing to rave about. The breakfast is basic and the hotel has no bar or restaurant. It is in a great location though, and we were able to walk to all the major sites easily.

If you want a central, no frills hotel, then this will do the job, but I couldn't reccomend it to anyone wanting a bit of luxury.

The hotel is located near Station Termini and the main attraction points in Rome.

The room was dark and there was a terrible smell. Upon our arrival, on the desk of the room, there was a toilet paper to welcome us! The breakfast was prepared and really poor. The building was old and no reconstruction work has been made for years (at least the security of the customers has to be guaranteed). The wireless connection was unstable.

Obviously this is not a 3* star hotel!!

Overall our stay here was very pleasant, the room was comfortable and nice to stay in. Not fancy or anything, but we didn't go to Italy for the room to be honest.
The front desk clerk was a bit sketchy and I don't think he was up to dealing with three giggly girls...
Breakfast was simple, but everyone was very nice.

I do lots of business traveling and I never wrote reviews until today.. The experience at the St. Moritz was simply terrible.

The room was dark, kind of damp and it had a single badly working plug. We were two people with laptops and we had to take turns :-) Yet I don't mind this. It has happened before.

What I couldn't stand was the behaviour of the owner. I got verbally attacked and insulted in the morning by a balding middle-aged guy with a goatie (the owner?), as my business partner was late for breakfast. Can you imagine that?! It was totally surreal.

Finally the guy tried to stop me leaving the hotel grabbing me and shouting, god knows why. I guess it was related to the fact that he wanted both me and my partner to leave at the same time. Hard to tell really. Pretty bad experience when you have to meet a client after half an hour.

Somehow I managed to keep my cool and in the best Italian I could manage I threatened him to call the police. He kept swearing but he let me go. Almost the same happened with my partner half an hour later. He was livid.

Make yourself a favour and don't visit the place. I should have been smarter.. I should have read the other reviews.

We stumbled upon the Hotel St. Moritz when the B&B we were supposed to stay at did not work out. We were satisfied with our room, which was small, but had a TV, phone, and private bathroom. Our room was right off the kitchen, which wasn't optimal, but we were desperate, and it worked out OK for us.

The breakfast was croissant/bread and cappuccino, prepared by a staff. Again, this was sufficient for us.

All of our interactions with the staff were pleasant. Additionally, the location is great; walking distance to Termini Station, the ruins, and Trevi Fountain. The location also seemed safe.
