What a terrible experience. The staff at the reception is very rude.
The room itself was terrible furnished, very small and dirty with a terrible smell. The walls were grubby and durty.
The bathroom had hairs on the wall and the floor and were teaming the cockroaches.
the atrocious breakfast consists of rock hard rools, awful jam, terrible coffee and watering orange juice.
Rome was fantastic and i have just returned from there again but there is no way on this earth I would ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is a dump and is vastly overrated at three stars it struggles one star. The rooms have probably not been updates for decades. It's dark, smelly and depressing. I felt I was staying in the dertiest place in the world. The staff is rude and always not halpful. The breakfast is just nothing. If you don't want to ruin your haliday, stay away from the so called hotel.

We recently had 3 nights at Hotel St Moritz and it satisfied all our needs. The rooms by Rome standards were average size, with a newly renovated bathroom. Breakfast was poor, however there are plenty of places nearby to grab some food on the way out. If you're planning a good sightseeing tour of rome this hotel is ideal, as it is quite central. We walked pretty much everywhere (10-15min to Colliseum, 10 mins to Trevi fountain) . Bars and restaurants are nearby, both touristy and a bit more traditional. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good english.

After long review-reading here at Trip-Advisor, we finally found this hotel. Our first impression was horrible since, to be frank, the building and the stairs up to the 2nd floor are very old - and you start to expect everything...

We stayed on the third floor with windows to the patio and it was absolutely quiet. The whole 3rd floor seems to be refurbished still with the smell of new carpet and painting. The bathroom was also new. The room itself was normal but at the end in Rome you will spend the whole time outside and just only feel asleep into your bed.

The breakfast was nice with fresh croissant and a very good freshly brewed cappucino. The staff was nice, smiling and helpful. We were happy to have chosen this place for our 4 days in Rome!

My boyfriend and I went to Rome last weekend. Our first impression of Hotel St Moritz was dirty, unfriendly, small and damp smelling, we were shown to our room (which was right by the reception), on entering the room it was tiny and dingy, it had a double bed in it which was like a camp bed and very hard, with black marks on the wall's. The bathroom was relitively clean containing two towels which were more like sheets (very unobsorbant) so luckily we brought our own.

At night time and in the morning the traffic outside was so loud it kept us awake - it was constant, apparently the window's were double glazed but you wouldnt have thought it! Also being so close to reception, the telephone ringing and people talking/shouting didnt help.

In the morning we went to breakfast which consisted of a freezing cold, rock hard boiled egg, some stale bread and a choice of crossaints that were frozen in the middle! Delicious!

The only good thing about this hotel was the location, it was within walking distance to everything. Luckily we found some lovely restaurants and really enjoyed the sightseeing, we are a young lively couple so we stayed out until late both nights so only had to sleep at the hotel, I certainly wouldnt recommend it for a romantic weekend or a family holiday! Next time we will definatly not go lower than 4 stars - even though we were told that 3 stars in Italy was quite good.
