When you look at the pictures it seems ok, but think a second time before you book this hotel. Or I would more call it a hostel. OK you have your own room with bathroom, but that is it. The rooms are dirty and there is much noise from trains and traffic on the road. They have an ok little garden where you sit and eat your breakfast, but the breakfast is worth nothing. You get some dry toast what you have to make yourself, some very cheep cheese without any taste and the worst ham I have ever tried. The money you pay for this is not worth it. We travel alot and have seen some different quality hotels, but this is so far the worst we have stayed in.

The hotel was lovely. We arrived at 1am we were greeted by the recepionist who was very helpful and friendly.
The room was very nice, clean and comfortable, brand new bathroom, tv and modern bedroom.
Very close to all the main attractions by foot, or next to Termini if you prefer to travel by train or catch tour buses.
I would stay here again.

Got a room on first floor facing the street, obviously noisy as there´s heavy traffic and trams running outside. But the staff was understandable and the day after we change to a room overlooking the small backyard.
The room was ok (beside some mould in the shower and some shabby walls). The best about Midi is the location. Walking distance to Colloseum and Fontana di Trevi. On Viale Manzoni there is also a supermarket and subway station.

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit apprehensive about what to expect, admittingly the walk from the termini is a bit off-putting, but dont let that put you off. We found the hotel clean and the staff accomodating, breakfast...what do people expect your in Italy. We were recommended a traditional Italian restraunt by the staff called `Da Pino alla piazzetta` which we recommend you try. However we would like to warn fellow travellers of a restraunt called `Padellaccioz` in Viale Manzoni, beware we were ripped off here. Overall Rome was amazing, it was everything we expected and more....

  • Liked — clean accomodation (if a little small) and friendly staff
  • Disliked — No coffee making facilities in the room.

Once we had negoticated the Tramps & Drunks & illegal imigrants & rivers of urine and piles of Poo (not just dogs!!) we arrived at the Midi Hotel. It was like a beacon of hope in a very unfriendly & intimatimidating area. We were welcomed rather coldly and We were they taken back out on the street to an adjoining building. The room was VERY clean and modern but if I was into swinging cats I would be out of luck, I would have had trouble swinging a small Hamster! The walls were paper thin, so to the young female pilgrim staying next door I would say a little less porno on TV and more confession wouldnt go a miss!. Also a badly positioned emergency cord in the shower made sure we were woken every morning before our alarm, as it would not be turned off until you contacted reception, which was hard as the rooms had no phones!, so the point of pulling the cord in an emergency and someone comes to your rescue was a lie.We were greeted in the morning by a unfriendly cook ( I use the term loosely!) and waitress who pointed to a small table that was sparsly ladened with food! Breakfast consisted of wafer thin ham & cheese, bits of cake in packets, baby slices of bread which if you had plenty of time you could toast yourself, cornflakes, both golden & brown?! and Museli (which a rabbit would find hard to stomach! and yougurt, all bought from the nearest discount supermarket. If you decide to stay at the Midi Hotel I would have room only and pop to Macdonald for breakfast(a 10min walk).
