My wife and I stayed for 2 nights adn were pleasantly surprised. Admitted the hotel is not exactly smack in the center of things. It's a 12 minute walk to the Spanish stairs - about half to Piazza Barberini. The good thing is that it is only a 5 minute walk from Termini (but not in the seedy district), which is nice if you arrive from the airport with Leonardo Express (funny name, that; especially the Express part). When we arrived the receptionist was very forthcoming and gave us good advice about where to go, where not go and where to eat in the neighbourhood. The room was nicely furbished and not that big (but then again they seldom are in Rome); but quite OK. Everything was clean and everything worked fine (all lamps, toilet etc - even hot water in the shower) - not a thing to be taken for granted in Italy. There was even CNN (the only English channel) on the very small TV (but who goes to Rome to watch TV?). On our departure day we could leave our suitcases in the reception until we should take the train to the airport.
We can warmly recommed the small restaurant around the corner in Via Flavia called Sorreno (or something like that; go out of the hotel, turn left. ON via Flavia (first cross section) turn left again. Cross via Servio Tullio and the restaurant is on your right about 50 meters down (there two right next to each other). Real neighbourhood charm and really good value for money.
