What a dump if you have the opportunity stay at the train station floor do it.The rooms at Blu are terrible. No phone, the beds are like sleeping on the old stone roads in Rome and the pillows are even worse.I was not expecting the Hilton but this was rubbish. The staff or lack there of are cranky and slow.If staying in Hotel Blu you must check in at Hotel Planet on the 5th floor and if you have luggage the elevator is tiny.Hell even a man with a average sized package will have trouble getting in and outta there.GO ELSEWHERE

Excellent value for money in an expensive city

I have just returned today from staying at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. I booked it as funds were limited in an expensive city - I wanted somewhere close to transport links and easy to find and this was the ticket.

The area around the railway station seems to have been cleaned up from what people have told me, and I was really surprised how safe I felt and how clean it was. There were a few cafes close by too and small shops to buy drinks etc. The Terravision bus from Ciampiano airport stops 1 min walk away too.

The party consisted of my mum (60+), sister (40), myself (34) and nephew (9) so we were a mixed age group and we all loved the hotel's location. We all agreed that this was a basic hotel but it was clean, good location (so easy to find from the main station), the service was good and it was value for the money. At the end of the day don't expect luxury - you get clean bedding, towels, a basic working shower with hot water and a small breakfast at a cafe on the corner, but if you all need is a place to rest your head at the end of a busy day sightseeing, I would recommend it!

We were taken to a different building when we checked in. It was dirty, one of our rooms did not have a toilet, we were asked to pay upfront, the area was sketchy. Don't stay here.

  • Liked — It was close to Termini Station.
  • Disliked — It was gross, dirty, in an awful area.

We picked Hotel Blu because of the central location (Metro/train station) and the photos on various web sites showed a nice, clean room. We arrived to find that the hotel is in a very dirty part of the city. Parking is non-existent unless you are willing to park on the street a few blocks away. Although one web site stated they had free parking, the best we could get was 16 Euros/day in a garage that was too small for our van. There was no "front desk" but one desk that managed 3-4 "hotels" in the same building. The rooms were very small with mold in the bathrooms and nearly non-existent maid service. Breakfast consisted of being given a coupon to a coffee bar and told we could have one breakfast pastry and a cup of coffee or OJ. Althought the area is convenient, we paid approximately 80 Euros/night for a hotel that was worth maybe 25 Euros. For the same price, we were able to stay in a 4-star hotel in Naples (Holiday Inn). I would recommend a 4-Star hotel out past the Vatican and take the bus or taxi to the nearest Metro station.
