The first problem with this hotel is that they do not have a 24/7 doorman or reception area. At about 8 every night, they lock the doors and you need to ring a bell in order to be let back into the hotel. The reception is actually on the 2d floor of the building, so you can't even see anyone inside the building. Late at night, this is pretty scary. There is no one around, and you are pretty much just hoping they answer the door quickly, which of course, they do not.
The rooms are VERY small. At the end of May, 2008, most of the building is under a major renovation, and they start work VERY early in the morning.
The other thing I found very disconcerting about this hotel was that you could NOT ask for an honest recommendation on a nearby restaurant. There is obviously a 'kick back' situation going on here, which then leads you to question the overall security of this hotel.
The only redeeming part of this hotel is that it is about 30 seconds away from the Spanish Steps.
I loved Rome, but would stay somewhere else when I visit again.
