This is a great hotel for sophisticated travelers who are familiar with European style hotels and want to stretch their dollars. The staff is friendly, Stefano in particular was extremely helpful in advising us about nearby restaurants and the nearest parking garage(very hard to find without his directions). The hotel was very clean, and the bathrooms small but very modern. The small room sizes are what I would expect from a hotel in an old building in an ancient city. The elevator was a god-send at the end of a long day on our feet! The storage space was fine and well arranged and we found it to be quiet for that part of Rome. The location near the Spanish Steps is excellent. The breakfast is in the basement, but it is well-lit and not gloomy. It is a European breakfast of pastries and yogurt, cheese and juice. If you are looking for an American style hotel, this is not your choice. This is a small, clean, well-run European style hotel with a great location and helpful staff.

  • Disliked — basement breakfast room

I found this hotel by reading through the tripadvisor reviews.

As stated in most reviews, the location is very convenient and the street is nice and neat. However, I realized on this trip that I prefer the other side of Via Del Corso, so if you know Roma, consider that as part of your hotel equation.

The front desk staff was exceptional, very kind and considerate. Oh so friendly and professional. They wanted to make sure that we were safe, used the security box for valuables, had an address card before venturing out, knew our location on the map, etc. We felt very well taken care of.

We were given a front room (facing street) on the second floor (203). The room was indeed small, but the bath was large, with lots of shelf space. The room and bath were very clean/fresh. On the second floor, not only did we hear ample street noise (is this the street of sirens and car alarms?), but we also had a tap dancer of sorts upstairs. Given that the rooms were small, we didn't know how one person could walk around so much. Luckily, we laughed about it.

Also, the walls must be thin, despite the age of the hotel. At night (around 10 p.m.) we heard the t.v. from the room next door (behind/above our heads).

I never thought much about a quiet location or room, but I guess I'm getting more persnickety with experience and age (especially when the dollar is weak and thus, I'm spending so much more.)

The breakfast in the sunny yellow breakfast room downstairs was fine and dandy, with cappuchino and pastries, some meats and cheeses, yogurt and fruit. Service was very efficient and everything was clean and well presented. (However, this wasn't the best breakfast I've had at a boutique hotel.)

Overall, we had a very nice stay, but still I'd go elsewhere next time because I'm interested in exploring more options in Roma. Suggestion: If the other reviews convince you that this is the place for you, ask when booking about a higher floor or a "back" room for less street noise. Also, we didn't mention any of this to management because with the heat and touring, we were too tired to repack and change rooms.

  • Liked — friendly, professional staff
  • Disliked — noise from street and neighboring rooms

Our family of five (Mom, Dad and three teenage daughters) enjoyed our stay at the Concordia. We had a double room (Queen bed) and a triple room (3 twin beds). Though not large, they were clean, nicely decorated and had modern bathrooms.

The front desk was friendly, spoke english pretty well and was happy to give advice on restaurants, shopping and general directions on how to get various places. They arranged for taxis the morning we left.

The hotel is very well located between the Spanish Steps and the Trevi fountain. The Pantheon and Piazza Navona are a15-20 minute walks. Taxis were easy to find around the block.

A continental breakfast was included in their basement level breakfast room. The room itself was bright, clean and rather quaint. Breakfast included cereals, rolls, cheeses, some meats, juices and coffee/espresso/cappucino.

We would recommend this hotel to couples or families who want a moderately priced (compared to Rome rates) hotel that doesn't have a lot of flash, but is clean, comfortable and well located.

The hotel is located in a fantastic spot and the most of the staff are very friendly and helpful.

While the rooms are very compact, they are well designed, clean and cosy. I had a single room so really appreciated larger than normal French size bed.

I can’t really fault the hotel however there are currently 3 BIG buts that would make me thinks twice about staying there again:

1.The Son-in-law who is at the reception most days. He is rude, unhelpful and has no customer facing skills. While I was trying to explain to him that there was a problem with the noise in my room due to the work being done on the roof he first lied to me to say that the work was next door and then accused me of being the only person to complain about the noise as no other quest has complained. Of course no other quest was staying on the 4th floor at the time.

2.The roof that is featured on the website is currently undergoing renovations and will not be finished for another few months. So if you are unlucky enough to have a room on the 4th floor you may expect some noise

3.Breakfast is the most measly I had in Italy. Even your daily croissant is long life and comes packed in a plastic wrap. The only fresh thing I could find were a few apples and a pitcher of milk.

I like the hotel and its location and just hope that they can maybe fix a few of the other things so I can stay there again

Hotel Concordia is minutes away from the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Metro. Lots of great little places to eat nearby.

The staff was extremely accomodating and helpful. They were able to secure a reservation for us in one of Romes top Bolognese restaurants!

  • Liked — location, staff
  • Disliked — the elevator was a "tad" small... :-)
