I read in Tripadvisor about an rude older lady serving breakfast there before I booked the hotel. Yes, she is still there and she is still very very rude. We decided to have our breakfast in another room just to avoid seeing her. The breakfast was reasonable. Look for ants in the sugar bottle, they work hard.
The location of the hotel is great, You can see the Coliseum right from the front of the hotel. Two Metro stations only a block or so away. A bus stop right in front that will take you to the Piazza Navona area where you cannot reach by Metro. There are so many restaurants closed by that you will sure find one that fit your budget and taste. There is also a travel agent next door that can help you to book train tickets. Couple grocery stores for fresh fruits, wines, cheese, deli meat and dried fungi porcini (for souvenir).
The front desk service was great. They helped us to book the museum tickets. But please double check the information they provide you, because some of them can give you unnecessary problem, especially if they are not familiar with it and have to look it up for you.
It is hard to find a quad room (sleep 4) in Rome, they have one but is across the street from the hotel. It is on the 3rd floor with no lift, so it will be challenging to carry your luggage up the steep stairs. The air conditioning was not functioning properly 4 of the 5 days we were there, at 40 degree C, it is somewhat uncomfortable. They did fix it the night before we left. The room is clean, so is the bathroom. Once a while, we had to go across the street to get more towels. One thing you have to do is to make sure you throw your soiled towels further away from the rack or check to make sure they do not put it back for you.
