Of the many hotels that we stayed on our 5 week European vacation, Hotel Miro was the most overly priced, unhelpful and disappointing. The pictures that we saw on the internet when we booked were totally deceptive. No shower screen in the bathroom means that every time you shower the entire bathroom is soaked and there is mould starting to accumulate. For the price i would expect cable television and some point of internet access. Stay away for the prices they are asking!

I just came back from Rome having stayed at the Miro. I chose it although I had read some reviews on the site mostly because of its convenient location. It is indeed really close to Piazza Di Spagna, 5 minutes walking and a step from Piazza Popolo. The room is ok, you'll find pictures uploaded soon. I stayed on the fourth floor. It was bigger than I had expected and the bathroom was very tidy and spacious. In general it was clean. Yet it didn't have a door just a window for the light to come in. The furniture was standard. I have to warn you that the hotel has no elevator so if ask for a room in the first two floors. The morning receptionist and one cleaning lady I met were both really nice and helpful. The afternoon receptionist was just there but the night receptionist was just rude! I only had breakfast one day. It's english breakfast with a variety of pastry. The thing is that the breakfast rooom is tiny, only 5 tables and two in the balcony.
Anyway, as convenient location as it may be, I don't think I'll be back unless everything else is booked.

When we booked this room we really did not imagine what awaited us.
When we first got there, we colud not find the hotel due to it's tiny little entrance, not to mention the lobby, which does not exist. there isn´t not one small sign that indicates that your are in front of a hotel
There is a front desk followed by stairs, which were another problem because, in fact, the hotel had no elevator and they had no rooms available for us in the first floors, and we were 7 people, my two daughters, my two nephews, my sister and my mom, who is in no age to climb up three floors by stairs every time she wanted to go to her room. On top of this, we were never given previous notice about this condition, even though I spoke to the hotel about the reservation numerous times. Moreover, the hotel receptionist did not even bother to find us rooms on the lowest floors, what is more, he even shouted at us when we asked him for some directions and recommendations for our stay in his city, claiming that he was not an information service.
They refused to change our sheets and our towels, even though we had made some changes in our rooms.
Breakfast is served until 9.30 and it is very poor, if you are lucky, you get to eat 2 croissants, and if the maid (the same one who cleans the rooms, and does everything there) is in a good mood, she even gives you two coffees!
This hotel is very noisy, we were unable to sleep at night because the windows in our room didn´t close, and also you hear the guests that get angry because of the lack of services the hotel offers.
There was another one of the hotel's facilities that did not work properly: the bathroom. One night, my daughter and my mother woke up and stepped foot on a puddle of water; it turns out that the bathroom had flooded overnight. Of course the staff didn´t care, we had to clean the room with the towels.
Besides, do not get me started on the staff they had. A combination of rude, easily-annoyed people, led by the worst of them all, Giusseppe, who would shout at us with no mercy whatsoever, unaware of the fact that every time he opened his mouth, he was mistreating us. One would think that he disliked us in particular, however, that was not the case. One night, my mother and one of my daughters, who shared a room, heard someone shouting, and went downstairs to find out what it was about. It turned out that the quarrell was between Giusseppe and a handicapped lady, who was forced to use the stairs to get to her room in the second floor. (not even first floor)
On the other hand, the one postitive thing that really stands out, is the hotel's amazing location, which allowed us to go almost everywhere on foot.

We booked this hotel via a shared website of small boutique hotels in Rome. Last year, I spent over a month in Rome and have never experienced anything like this.

Upon check in, we were forced to pay for three nights upfront. There is no elevator and no first floor rooms (not mentioned in their description). The clerk spoke perfect English.

When my mom went to shower, a mouse ran across from the bathroom into the sleeping area. We called the front desk, but the clerk said he only spoke French and would not help.

After a sleepless night in the room, we checked out in the morning. They refused to reimburse me for the room---even for the two nights we didn't stay there. Finally, they gave me a small token of a reimbursement, so they could show American Express they were making a gesture. Since I signed the charge upon check-in American Express is making me pay. It happened in October and I am still angry.

This hotel wes very well placed near the Piazzo del Popolo. The rooms were quite spacious and very clean. Our bathrooms had jacuzzi baths. The breakfast was adequate, as much cereal, bread etc as you would want. The staff were pleasant and only one had very good english but that's not a problem we couldn't speak much Italian but we could manage to communicate. They did try to answer our questions and there were maps avaliable on a hall table. Our pre-booked car didn't turn up to take us back to the airport, the staff couldn't do enough to make sure we were sorted out.
I would recommend this hotel to friends, there were lots of great Ristorante and bars hidden up side streets and around the Piazzo, as one of the other reviews said, a little gem.
