“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

The rooms at the Demetra are beautiful, clean, crisp, large. The bathroom is sharp and user friendly. The staff could not have been more helpful and the whole atmosphere, once we got to the 1st floor could not be faulted.
Unfortunately the entrance to the building is still being renovated, the workmen were very helpful with luggage and despite there being a sign on the corner of the building up high, the entrance was still very difficult to find. The lift was barely big enough for two adults and two suitcases.
There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but I am told this is the norm for Italy.
It was a lovely place to spend the last of our 28 nights overseas.

This is a high standard hotel with well earned 4 stars. The location was good with walking distance to most famous sites. They had very serviceminded and professionell staff who were always very helpful and made you feel welcome. Nice design which we appreciated and it was very clean. The breakfast was very good, and to top it, very good coffer (capuccino). We highly recommend it. //Igor and Marna from Sweden

I was moved to this hotel from a sister hotel due to a maintenance problem that was not that fault of either hotel; it was handled well by very kind and efficient staff. It is newly remodeled (not evidenced yet from the unfinished entrance) and is very clean and sleek inside. Marble everywhere. My single room was actually quite small, unlike what other reviewers found. Since I had no wish to stay in my room in Rome, it worked fine. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is beautiful, but it puzzled me that a marble shower does not have a shelf for shampoo/soap, so you have to reach to the floor for them. Likewise a towel rack jutting out in front of the sink, poking your front parts. The ascendance of style over comfort, I guess.

Breakfast was very good--a buffet service with great variety and tasty food served in a cozy, well appointed room. Nice way to start busy days of sightseeing or business. 24 hour desk staff were very courteous and I was grateful that they spoke English so well. I found the location to be excellent. Two blocks from the main train station (Termini), airport bus and metro, and easy to find. Several major architectural sites are within a few minutes walk and more an easy 20 minute stroll, also shopping, restaurants, etc.

When i strated looking for a hotel to stay in I thought I'd never find something suitable..... good location for transport links, clean and modern style, reasonable price, good reviews, .... but I think I did really well here.

Staff:- very friendly, good English spoken on reception, helpful, very smart, responsive to any issues
Breakfast- i'd heard breakfasts often consisted of an odd roll and a coffee but we had a reasonable buffet spread of yogurt, coffee, 2 juices, bottled water, milk, 2 cereals, cold meats and cheese slices, butter, bread rolls and sliced, a toaster, scrambled eggs and cooked thin "bacon", danish pasties, cakes, jams etc
Decor - new, modern, lots of travertine marble with flashes of colour in soft furnishings which i really liked. bathrooms were beautiful.
Access - front hallway is under construction so looks untidy. There is a lift for 2 or 3 at a squeeze with luggage. Or its a 2 flights walk but not ardous to the reception as the building houses other hotel/s. Our room was down a corridor and up another staircase which wouldnt suit everyne but there were only 2 rooms up these stairs.
Noise - no problem. The room had windos onto the central "atrium" so was fine
Location - a short walk from the terminii station so easy access to trains and both lines of the metro underground railway. Numerous bars and restaurants around the local area
Air conditioning - on and working
Room safe
Room- minibar but didnt use
No in room tea/ coffee facilities
Storage- small bedside table, one wardrobe with rail and a horizonta section so could be limited if staying a long time
There was a communal sitting area downstairs but we didnt use it
The maid/s did a good job on tidying up the room and ensuring we were well supplied with towels and toiletries etc
I would be very happy to stay again

The location of the hotel was perfect - 5/10 minute walk from Termini and easy to find using google maps. It was a great location for us to see the whole of Rome. We walked everywhere from the hotel. It is 15 minutes from the Colleseum and Roman Forum and maybe half hour walk the other way for the Spanish steps, trevi fountain and again about 30/40 minutes walk to the vatican. We were happy with this though - the best way to see Rome is to walk around and see what you find.

As other reviews say it looks a little like a building site from the outside but don't be put off as it is beautiful on the inside. There is also now a big sign for the hotel so very easy to find.

Lovely, modern, clean rooms and we were upgraded to a suite for the first night of our stay which was good. Breakfast was also good - cereal, toast, pastries etc.

I would highly recommend this hotel - location and price are perfect for a trip to Rome.

Room Tip: If they try and offer you room 105 this is opposite the breakfast and can be noisy in the morning. I...

We stayed in Demetra for three nights. This is a new hotel and has very good standard. Rooms are clean and spacious. We got room opposite breakfast room the first night ans we were woken up at six by the staff preparing breakfast. We complained at the reception and were upgraded to higher room cathegory, which was very nice. Although there were few technical problems in the room it was solved out fast. Staff is nice and helpful. Hotel has great location and walking distance everywhere.

Room Tip: rooms opposite breakfast room are noisy

a very nice hollyday it was.. and the hotel too.. very good situated, with nice, young and available employees. the breakfast was marvelous, maybe was better if the two girls working there would understand/talk better english. and.. another thing that i didn't like.. at the check in, we found a receptionist, all available, maybe too available, which.. with a poor english accent he held us a little too much time explaining with a marker on the map, all the things that we would like to visit, even though we explained him that it's not our first trip in Rome! anyway.. we definatelly advise everyone to reside inside this hotel
