Thanks to great reviews from Trip Advisor, we booked a room at Fortyseven Hotel. As soon as my husband and I checked in, the reception was fabulous. Instead of standing up at a usual hotel front desk, we sat down with the receptionist who is seated at a desk and checked in. The receptionists were very friendly and professional and a lot of hotels should look to them as great examples of customer service. They also gave great recommendations for places to eat including a deli on 63 Trastevere Street which has the best pizza and bruschetta we ever had.
The room is very clean, modern and big. The bathroom is also clean, modern and big. They have big closets and enough room to move around.
Food: We had dinner and drinks on the rooftop and the staff were very professional and friendly. The food was great. During drinks they gave us some appetizers to go with our drink. The food was fabulous. They offered us a 3 course dinner which was fabulous. Make sure to get recommendations from the concierge for restaurants. They sent us to Piperno's which is in the Jewish Ghetto and had a fabulous meal there. They won't steer you wrong. Breakfast was fantastic. They had caprese salad, fresh ham and salami, fruit, pastries and they also had American breakfast of eggs, sausage and bacon which we didn't touch because of the other fresh selection. They also have the best cappuccino and we had several all over Rome and their's is still the best.
The hotel is close to the coliseum and bus stop. The location is also nice because it is far from the bustle of tourists and people. The last thing you want is a noisy hotel with too much foot traffic.
If we go back to Rome, we will definitely stay there again. To the staff of Hotel Fortyseven, please keep on doing a great job and we recommend to anyone visiting Rome to stay at your hotel. You guys are fantastic.
