Stayed here for al ong weekend on our first trip to Rome. Hotel is perfectly located next to termini station wit the tubes and lots of bus stops. Hotel itself was cleam, staff really friendly and helpful. The rooms are "basic" but they are clean and good sized. We stayed on 1st floor though which sounds like it is better than the 3rd. For the money I would definatley recommend this place!

Our Valentines’ treat began really well with excellent flights courtesy of KLM which began from Leeds-Bradford Airport, changed at Amsterdam and finally on to Rome where we landed at 9.30pm. Our taxi pick-up was waiting, as arranged with our names on a board, and we were transferred to our hotel, the Giorgi.

As we were checking in it became apparent that things had now gone incredibly wrong.
The night receptionist, who was very helpful in informing us about places to go and things to see, told us that we had been booked in to two single rooms. We told him that we had booked a double room (why would a married couple celebrating Valentines Day in Rome want single rooms?)

He told us that he could not supply us with a double room that evening and we would have to spend Valentines night in single rooms. He would sort it out in the morning.
We went tour rooms which were 16m apart and began carrying clothes from room to room because we had only taken one suitcase.

We awoke very early the next morning and asked about changing to a double room for the remainder of our stay. We were told it would be impossible to change rooms because the hotel was full. We would be able to change for our 3rd night.

We telephoned Expedia, who promised to follow the matter up straight away and telephone back. They did not sort out the problem, nor did they phone back.

On our third day we again asked to change rooms. The reception chap again said it was impossible because the hotel was full. My wife lost her temper at this, explained that our luggage had not been unpacked for three days because we were waiting for a room swap. At this point, and probably because of all of the broken promises, the receptionist said that he would give us a double room. He gave us the keys to a room that had just been vacated and told us we could move our case into the room.

The room was lovely but the incompetence of the receptionists at the Georgi Hotel had spoilt our break.

Rome is incredible. Don’t spoil YOUR visit by staying at the Hotel Giorgi.

read a few reviews about the giorgi being clean, friendly and comfortable and perfectly located for walking round the sights in rome - they were all 100% correct. A perfect base when spending most of your time out and about but also pleasurable the time you're there. welcoming, friendly and helpful staff

We stayed at the Hotel Giorgi for 4 nights this past August, and overall had a positive experience. The staff (one guy in particular was there almost all the time, I swear he never slept) was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning on the first day and left in the evening on the last day, but they were very accomodating with storing our luggage and letting us hang out in the air conditioned lobby during the heat of the day (Rome is scorching in August).

Our room had air conditioning, we just had to phone to the front desk to turn it on. We had a TV and a fridge, and lots of space in our room. The elevator was one of those rickety old things you see on the movies, and didn't work if people didn't close the door properly, but most of the time it worked fine.

The location was great, with the Stazione Termini only a couple of minutes away. From there we could ride the train, or more conveniently in Rome, the bus. We even discovered as the trip went on that we could walk most places in about a half hour or so.

The breakfast was good, and there was lots of food. There's also a supermarket just about a block away to buy snacks, water, etc.

No complaints.

I was there with a friend. The room was pretty small but clean. The location is perfect - just a 5 minutes walk to the Termini. The young staff was helpful - speaking English. The old staff was rude. The bar wasn't open as told in the evening and we had to go out in pouring rain to look for a place to have some coffee. As there was a construction going on right next to our room, terrible noise started at 7 a.m. and very unpleasant. We had to ask for a remote control for the TV and find out that there were only Italian channels - no international TV.
2 elevators to change- the modern one OK but the old one like something from the beginning of the 20th century...
I liked it but my friend didn't.
