If you check the website for the Giorgi, you will find a picture of a charming room nicely decorated and very appealing. We did not have that room. As earlier reviewers have noted, room 303 is in an older part of the hotel and in serious need of renovation. There is no carpet on the floor, the wallpaper is starting to come off the walls, and the shower is broken. When we arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon, the room was not ready (which we were not told until we had hauled our luggage up in the ancient closet-like elevator). We did gain access to the room to leave our luggage. The room had an unpleasant odor coming from the bathroom. Fortunately, when we returned and the room was clean and the odor was gone.

If you check out the hotel on Expedia, you will see that the Hotel advertises things such as Climate Control, High Speed Internet, and Bathrobes. The front desk controlled the air-conditioning. There was one computer near the breakfast room for the use of the entire hotel, which costs 2 euro/half hour. On the second day of our stay, we returned to the room to find that my husband's robe (his personal robe--not one provided by the hotel) was missing. Evidently, housekeeping removed it with the dirty towels. No one knew what happened to it and no one cared. Will we stay there again? I think not.

This was an expensive hotel and did not come up to the standards of the supposed lesser hotels we stayed at in Nice, Venice, and Florence. Although it was very conveniently located near the train station and metro, I would prefer a hotel more on the outskirts of Rome next time.

  • Liked — Convenient to transportation.
  • Disliked — Did not get a very good room for the money spent.

Charming hotel with a great location. The staff is a little less than excited about doing anything for you . Not rude but you must ask-they are not going to offer anything.

Stayed 4 nights in this Hotel which was very well located 2 streets from the Termini station, the Terravision bus from Ciampino Airport drops you right at the station.
A lift takes you to the first floor where the bar & breakfast room are then another old but quaint lift takes you to the upper floors, Our room was on the 5th floor and was really spacious with 2 double beds and was very clean, 2 big windows at either end of the room but not any great view from either but this did not matter. Breakfast was O.K, usual ham cheese toast cereal etc
Downside was the surly Reception staff , 2 older gentleman who did not seem to be very friendly and did not speak or understand English very well. also the bar was not manned at all & we were told to contact the Reception staff if we needed a drink but we did not try this as we did not think they would be well pleased !
Area round the Hotel seemed safe enough (we were 2 woman on our own) and there were restaurants nearby, even had a meal in the Termini station which was full of shops & snack bars.
Would recommend for its central position

  • Liked — location close to Termini station
  • Disliked — bar not ever open ,suly Reception staff

Stayed two nights, the place is strange. Enter through a reception area which is clean .To reach the rooms you take a modern lift to the first floor where the superior rooms are located. Our friends had a room on this floor, which was modern and reasonably well presented. As we had been allocated a room on the third floor we entered a stairwell that had not seen a new coat of paint since Nero was a lad. An ancient lift is then taken to the third floor. On this stair well are located two further one and two star hotels, an office and a private dwelling! The Giorgi rooms are through an unlocked access door that is covered by cctv.Room 303 (as mentioned by previous reports) was adequate, the bathroom was clean if a little tired with no evidence of stench from the bidet. The big problem was the air conditioning which ran continuously, could not be switched off and was very noisy.
Breakfast was basic but adequate.
The local area is a little seedy as is the norm with close proximity to rail stations.
Would I stay again ? Possibly, but require a superior room.

Stayed here w/ mom and sister for 1 night on our way back to the U.S. from Rome. Room 303, 1 queen bed, 1 twin. 2.5 blocks from the train station. Room was large but very basic. Bidet emitted strong stench of urine that spread into the room. We covered it with several towels, which helped. I gather that Rome hotels are extremely expensive for what you get, but this place was up there with some of the nastiest hostels I have stayed in in Europe and Central America for $100 less. Funny photos of someone's cat on the wall. Evening clerk was very friendly - escorted us to our room and helped us with our luggage. Morning clerk was worthless, seemed drunk or asleep, took repeated requests of "tassi, per favore" for him to figure out that we wanted him to call us a taxi. Not recommended.

  • Liked — The cat picture on the wall.
  • Disliked — The urine smell coming out of the bidet.
