first, let me say that i am here in rome on business, and given that, i really don't recommend the daphne. when i've needed something, i've had to call four or five different phone numbers--most of which go directly to voice mail. when the cab dropped me off, i had a hard time finding the place, as there is only the smallest sign next to an unmarked door, so i called reception--straight to voice mail.
And, one of the best benefits here, which is wireless Internet--the service has been super spotty.
If you're saving your pennies, and this type of stuff won't matter to you while you're on vacation, then daphne could be a great bet--the rooms and vibe are very modern and stylish and very clean. that being said, my room was a single room (one of the cheapest in the hotel) and was a box.
The staff is super warm and friendly, but don't expect any knowledge about higher end restaurants. perhaps my expectations are too high--fair enough. They seem extremely focused on leisure travelers, and on that, i think they do extremely well--emailing in advance and seeking our request and trying to be helpful, and certainly, when i had questions, they were able to answer them quite well and with warmth, which is a lot more that i can say than a lot of places.
That being said, i stayed at the holiday inn express the week before in Rome, and i was able to email documents at 1:00 am, get them printed, and the internet worked just fine...
again, it's all about priorities...
if i were on a serious budget and on vacation, i'd consider staying here...
