This hotel is located just a few blocks from Vatican City and a major city bus hub, a 5 minute walk from a Metro station (Ottaviano), and very near a laundromat, 2 internet points, and a small grocery store. Our room was in the building kitty-corner across the street from the office (there are 3 buildings), in the section labeled "3rd Floor Best Rooms." Seemed very secure - one key to enter the building, another to enter the 3rd-floor hallway, another for the room.

Rome's subway and bus systems are very efficient, so you can get around easily from this hotel, without being right in the middle of all the crowds. Don't bother with a car!

The room was very comfortable. Nice bathroom with shower and bidet. Window overlooking the street.

Sam and Junior, who ran the front desk and breakfast area, were just great! They made us feel welcome, cheerfully provided all kinds of local information (in very good English), made us some great capuccinos, and helped us move our bags. They will take good care of you!

My daughter is studying in Rome so, a mid-semester visit was in order. Booked at Les Chambres d'Or Hotel after reading other Trip Advisor reviews. This is a fine, moderately priced, clean and conveniently located hotel. Room size was more than adequate and the staff was extraordinarily helpful, from assisting with planning out daily itineraries, provision of helpful maps and making reservations when needed at various museums. Continental breakfasts, included with the room, were more than sufficient. Highly recommend the hotel.

The perfect location, superb staff, clean, comfortable rooms in a charming building. And the cappuccino at breakfast was worth the flight to Rome all by itself. I almost hesitate to recommend this hotel so highly--in case I can never get a reservation again.

We arrived in Rome (following an argument with a taxi driver that tried to rip us off, I quoted the tourist police's telephone number to him and he soon backed down!) early in the morning. We went to the lovely coffee shop to check in. We were met with delicious coffee and biscuits. Our room wasn't ready, but they offered us a room at their sister hotel which we accepted as we wanted to dump our bags and get out exploring!

We paid 90 euros per night for the room.

The room was fantastic - huge! It was in view of the Vatican walls and we had a view of St Peter's basilica from the room.

The staff were really great, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room itself was comfortable with everything that we could possibly need. There were local shops, bars and restaurants right outside and a taxi rank on the road outside.

We walked everywhere. St Peter's Square is approx. 400m from the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a spacious room in a great location.
