My daughter is studying in Rome so, a mid-semester visit was in order. Booked at Les Chambres d'Or Hotel after reading other Trip Advisor reviews. This is a fine, moderately priced, clean and conveniently located hotel. Room size was more than adequate and the staff was extraordinarily helpful, from assisting with planning out daily itineraries, provision of helpful maps and making reservations when needed at various museums. Continental breakfasts, included with the room, were more than sufficient. Highly recommend the hotel.

The perfect location, superb staff, clean, comfortable rooms in a charming building. And the cappuccino at breakfast was worth the flight to Rome all by itself. I almost hesitate to recommend this hotel so highly--in case I can never get a reservation again.

We arrived in Rome (following an argument with a taxi driver that tried to rip us off, I quoted the tourist police's telephone number to him and he soon backed down!) early in the morning. We went to the lovely coffee shop to check in. We were met with delicious coffee and biscuits. Our room wasn't ready, but they offered us a room at their sister hotel which we accepted as we wanted to dump our bags and get out exploring!

We paid 90 euros per night for the room.

The room was fantastic - huge! It was in view of the Vatican walls and we had a view of St Peter's basilica from the room.

The staff were really great, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room itself was comfortable with everything that we could possibly need. There were local shops, bars and restaurants right outside and a taxi rank on the road outside.

We walked everywhere. St Peter's Square is approx. 400m from the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a spacious room in a great location.

I stayed here for 8 nights and was very happy with every aspect of the hotel.
Location: It's easy to find and to get to from the airport (get the Da Vinci express to Termini and then the A line metro to Ottaviano and it's a 5 minute walk away). The Vatican is only a couple of minutes away so you can get there at the quieter times very easily. With the metro so close, it's very easy to get to all the sights in Rome. You are also a very short walk away from Via cola di rienzo which is the big shopping street in the area.

The room: It wasn't huge but was perfectly clean and comfortable; ours looked out over the Via Dei Gracci so with the window open it could be a bit noisy, but you couldn't hear anything when it was shut. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was fine.

The Staff: The manager, Samuel and the rest of the staff were always very helpful and friendly.

The Breakfast: Was served in the cafe which doubles as reception and included excellent coffee, rolls, pastries, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. It was absolutely delicious and perfect for giving you the energy for a long day's sightseeing.
