After a wonderful cruise of 11 days and a night in beautiful Venice, we were two couples looking forward to seeing Rome and what the last part of our journey would bring . We were very happy to get to the hotel from Termini Station – definitely requires a taxi – and we found a very nice cab driver and for 40 euros he brought us to our destination. The hotel is a little jewel set on a quiet street within walking distance (10 minutes) from the Vatican. The staff greeted us with smiles and offered us a cold beverage as we relaxed. Within minutes we were settling in our rooms located in a building adjacent to the office. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, spacious and had big (for European standards) bathrooms complete with walk in shower. Great breakfast of juice, pastries, sandwiches and coffee included. What more can you ask for?

We have just returned from a 5 night stay in Rome. What can I say about this hotel. The location was perfect for all the main attractions particularly The Vatican. The hotel was beautiful and the staff well ...... Sam and the others could not do enough for us They really looked after us well, nothing was a trouble and they made our stay extra special they are a real credit to the hotel. We will be recommending The Chambres D'Or to all our friends.

We were two couples returning to Rome for a couple of days following a cruise and chose Les Chambres d'Or for it's convenient location to the Vatican City. It is literally three streets away from St. Peter's square and the Hop on Hop off bus stop. Upon arrival we were met by the hotel staff who offerred us a welcome drink while they completed the registration. The hotel is on a quite street away from the city noise and we took it all in while sipping our capuccio. Our room was in a building adjecent to the cafe and registration office on the third floor. Like most hotels in Rome there are no less than three keys to get to your room. The keys may be cumbersome but at least there is some sort of security in place. Our rooms had recently been renovated and we were pleasantly surprised as to how spacious and clean they were. The building also has an old but functional elevator which is rare. The beds were a tad hard but when in Rome, you have so much to see and do that you return to your hotel so wiped it almost doesn't matter. Breakfast is included with yogourt, fruit, pastries, sandwitches, juice and coffee. Everything served with a smile. I would recommend Les Chambres d'Or to anyone, anytime.

Having just returned from our break in Rome, what can i say!Rome is just incredibily beautiful! the architecture the people, taxis, traffic!!! but enough about that. Lets get down to the real Rome. On our arrival we checked with the airport information kiosk as to the best means of transport to our hotel. We decided on a taxi and checked what the cost would be. Having been told a maximum fare to our destination which was five mins walk from St Peters square should cost no more than 45 euros we decided upon a taxi. To our dismay when we got to our hotel we were charged 60 euros, so watch the taxi! From the moment we arrived at Les Chambres D'Or we were welcomed by very friendly and accomodating staff. Sam and the guys made our stay in Rome unforgetable!!! Thanks from Francine and Jim . who were heading to Sorrento. sorry but we didnt get to Salerno, Sam, but Possitano was an absoloute picture postcard. Anyone reading this. do the Amalfi coast by scooter!! lose yourself, its an awesome trip, if you have the nerve!!!!!!!!!!!!!
