We stayed for a couple of nights at Milo in end April. It was a reasonably comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. The location was close to Termini station so very central to everything. However, the reception is on the first floor and the hotel has a really small lift which was an inconvenience. The breakfast was also very basic. However, would say you get the value for the money you pay.

This hotel calls itself a three star hotel and it's nowhere close. Our experience started with a sign for the "elevator" that pointed to stairs. You have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs before you reach the elevator. The gentleman checking us in could barely be bothered with us. Not friendly or helpful at all. We went up to the first room he assigned us to, walked past the pealing wallpaper under the flourescent lights, and found that it had no air conditioning, despite their claims on all the booking sites that the property is airconditioned. We went down and compalined and he said he could give us an airconditioned room, but it was on the sixth floor where the elevator didn't reach. So more carrying of our bags up the stairs. In that room, we saw an airconditioner, but there was no way to turn it on. The guy at the desk refused to answer the phone, so we had to walk back down to the reception area where he gave us the remote control for the a/c which he had forgotten to give us before. As we waited for the room to cool down, I washed my hands an a sewage stench began to permeate the whole room. We covered the drain with a towel and didn't use the sink for the rest of our stay. We wanted to leave and find another hotel, but we were only there for one night and after all of the carrying of luggae and changing rooms, we didn't want to waste the rest of our evening looking for another hotel. Plus, I suspected the unhelpful gentleman at the front desk would not easliy agree to give us a refund. FYI, the staff members on duty later that night and the next morning were no more friendly. When I checked out, the woman never said a word to me.

The only good news -- and the reason we booked at Hotel Milo in the first place -- is that it's very close to Termini train station. It's an easy two block walk. But i would never go back. There are so many hotels in that area. I have to believe you can find something better, even without spending more money.

Hotel is situated on a street between several bars/restaurants. when you enter the main doorway you enter an uncovered courtyard. the stairs up to the reception are on the left. there is a lift but u have to go up a flight of stairs to reach it. Reception was friendly and spoke good english. The room itself was huge, we paid for a double and received a triple. There was no aircon but the windows could be left open with shutters locked outside it, although there was quite a lot of street noise (unfortunately that was mostly Barcelona fans shouting).
The bathroom was pretty good and the shower was adequate although very small. A free electronic safe is provided in the room.
There was breakfast provided, although I did not get up for it so cannot comment on the quality.
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the Termini train and metro station (use the exit that has the McDonalds outside it).

I stayed in the Milo Hotel for 3 nights. I found the hotel staff extremelly helpful and friendly. They have a map of Rome in the lobby, which is always really handy. The room was very clean and had a little mini fridge for your own drinks if you wished to have something cold. They also had a free safe, which is always a plus for peace of mind. The shower wasn't great but they gave you free little sandals to wear if you wanted to for hygienic purposes, which I found really cute given that I never like walking barefoot in places other than my own house. In summary, I would definitely recommend given that for the price and location, you are getting good value and I would certainly recommend Italy... I fell in love with the city... can't wait to go back!!
