4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2012

The room was not big, but very comfortable, clean and functionable. The breakfast was sufficient. You take it in the room, but when the weather is nice, you can sit outside on a lovely roofgarden. The staff was always helpful. But the best is the position: Just off Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere and in the neighbourhood of Ponte Sisto. In 10 minutes you can walk to the Centro Storico: Piazza Farnese, Piazza dei Fiori etc. A higly recommendable place!

We found we could walk to just about every main attraction in Rome from this small hotel. It is very conveniently situated to lots of good trattoria/cafes/bars and there is a tram reasonably close to catch.
The rooms were wonderfully clean. The breakfast was served in the room (winter) and on a very attractive terrace in the warmer weather.
I suppose the only thing we really missed was a kettle so we could have a tea or coffee when we liked, and the noise from nearby restaurants and their voluble patrons standing around outside went on into the wee hours of Friday and Saturday.
I think that's just how things are in Rome in the evening!

I had a very pleasant stay at Villa della Fonte. The friendly and accommodating staff, nice breakfast on the attractive terrace, great location on a little street just off Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, and the comfortable, pleasant room all contributed. I was there for seven nights in October. The first night was a bit noisy with conversations on the street, but after that, quiet. I recommend Villa della Fonte highly.

Villa della Fonte Guest House was a good find in Rome! We wanted a true neighborhood experience and after having a little trouble with the taxi finding the B&B, we were greeted kindly by the desk reception. It is a small, family run B&B with only 5 rooms, which are well maintained with nice furniture, attention to detail, very nice service, a lovely terrace in the back for breakfast and sitting out in the evening. There is no elevator in case you require one. The rooms are small but for Rome this is quite normal and expected like NYC. You are within walking distance of the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere and all the restaurants and nightlife you could wish. We enjoyed wandering the neighborhood and discovering places off the tourist trail. Our room faced the small street of Via della Fonte d'Olio where we received some noise from outside at night, but it did quiet down after midnight. Overall, this is a small trade off to be perfectly located in Trastevere. A/C works well so don't need to have window open unless you wanted the local flavor. I enjoyed listening to the sounds of the city in the morning. We highly recommend staying at the Bed & Breakfast Villa della Fonte and enjoying the hospitality and local neighborhood flavor that is so Rome!

Although initially alarmed by the graffiti on the walls approaching the entrance this was soon dispelled once inside the hotel. Very comfortable room, pleasant staff and lovely breakfast in the sunshine on the terrace every morning. The square which is a stone's throw from the hotel is a lovely place to sit and have a coffee mid-morning overlooking the fountain and the oldest church dedicated to Our Lady in Rome. Very easy to catch buses nearby and there are a number of very agreeable restaurants within a few minutes walk. We really couldn't have asked for a more suitable place to use as a base for our stay.

This is certainly a gem. Small, family run with only 5 rooms, extremely well maintained, with nice furniture, attention to detail, very nice service, a lovely terrace in the back for breakfast and sitting out in the evening (only until 1045 at night though). The rooms are small but this is really quite normal in this part of the city. Trastevere is a very nice area to stay. It is a bit further away from Spanish stairs, Trevi fountain etc., but much less tacky than other areas, great selection of restaurants in the evening. There are plenty of tourists, after all it's Rome, but it still feels pleasant, and since large parts of Trastevere are not accessible with cars it's nice to wander around in the evening, even with kids. It's certainly not a business hotel, it also doesn't have a SPA or gym if that is what you're after. Also, if you are really sensible to noise and used to going to bed early it might not be ideal because of the proximity to Piazza Santa Maria. Most of the noise completely stops at midnight though, and the hotel does have double glass windows.

Fantastic customer service, perfect restaurant recommendations and good tips for visiting Rome's attractions (which have confusing opening/closing times and peak busy periods); they wanted us to have a great visit to Rome and we did.
Clean, good sized room and nice bathroom. Good breakfast.
Some noise from outside at night, but seemed to quiet down after midnight, probably louder in the summer, but this is a small trade off to be perfectly located in Trastevere. A/C works so don't need to have window open.
We will return to Rome, and we will always stay at Villa Della Fonte.
