As a tourist in Rome you have basically two options for hotels, large hotels, swarming with tourists and pulsating with the city's energy or "residence" type hotels which are much smaller, intimate and more of a refuge from the daily storm. At Caesar House you exchange the anonimity of the larger tourist hotels for a more intimate setting and a more personal relationship with staff and fellow guests.

Don't look for a grand entryway, the hotel is on the third floor of a building that houses several other businesses. Street access is through a small door inside a larger double door - in the same way that European access their own apartments. A elevator takes you to the third floor. Delightful, unless you demand a uniformed bellman.

We chose Caesar House based on other reviews here, and were not surprised or disappointed, The location is exceptional. Suggestions from the desk were excellent and the staff really went out of their way to be helpful.

Caesar House will be our home for any future visits to Rome.

Stayed 3 nights in May and Caesar House lived up to all our expectations. Their attention to our needs were excellent and helped to make our stay in Rome absolutely wonderful.
While the building has been renovated to reduce the noise from outside, it was difficult to sleep through the noise generated by the Irish pub in the back alley.
Not the fault of Caesar House and next time would ask for a room that faced the main street.

Caesar House is a well-located small hotel about 2 blocks from the Coliseum. It is on the 2nd floor of a hard-to-find multi-use building on a very busy street. The rooms are relatively large and nicely outfitted. The best thing about the hotel is the friendly, knowledgeable staff.

First of all... we would definitely stay here again - the location is unbeatable! All you have to do is walk out the front door, turn left and walk a half block to be at the Forum!! And steps further to the Colloseum. Also, it is very close to the Metro which was a great plus in getting around to places of interest like the Vatican, Borghese Gallery (etc...)... if you don't feel like walking. So if you are here for just a day or two and want to see the major sites of Rome, this is the place to be.
The room was clean, quaint and had a good sized bathroom - but for the money paid it wasn't quite as luxurious as we had expected. And while they offer some "free" beverages, they were few and were not replenished at all during our two day stay.
The staff was very helpful, friendly, spoke perfect English and sat with us to help plan our daily activities.
Have to say that the bed was really comfortable!!
Breakfast was good, and served in a nice room.
All in all, a good experience - perfect spot for a short term stay, but wouldn't be our choice if we were staying longer than a couple of days.
