“No sleep at Stella Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2007

We picked Hotel Stella because it said it was on a quiet steet and near the Termini Station. Big Mistake!!! The street is quiet until 100 university kids show up to the Bar directly below the hotel windows and start singing German beer songs out on the steet., while heavy metal band plays inside. The noise was deafening!. the bass was so loud that even in the windowless bathroom whie I was taking a shower with the fan going, I could feel and hear the bass vibrating. We had a 6 am wake up and so got no sleep as the bar didnt close until 2 am.

I have some sympathy for the Stella hotel management as in other respects its a nice place with clean rooms and modern bathrooms, and the staff is helpful. But I feel they represented their hotel, they should have said its a good place for poeple who like to be near bars and restaurants as there are both on the steet. There were many complaints to the hotel staff that night, not just from us, and basically all were told there was nothing he could do.
I cant recommend it to anyone needing a good nights sleep

“Not Bad”

Not a bad hotel we stayed here for 7 nights, big mistake i think that this hotel is better of you are only in Rome for 3-5 days.

The breakfast is o.k for the first couple of days but you end up getting tired of the same thing Museli,Croissants, bread rolls and cornflakes.

The staff are really helpful and generally nice people the room is clean but very basic the only English speaking tv station is MTV and make sure you pack some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the bar next door can be noisey or if you want you can pay 10 Euro and have the air conditioning on and close the window.

The hotel is not in the best part of Rome but is close to the Termini and i can honestly say i didn't have a problem with the area.

I would recommend this hotel for young couples wanting to holiday on a budget

“Clean, close to Termini central station, perfect for a city trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2007

We booked a city trip to Roma in August and we were looking for an hotel in the centre more convenient for sightseeing but not to expensive. So we found Stella hotel on Internet.

The localisation is very easy to find out, next to the Termini Central station. The room is small but clean and even if our room was just in front of the street, it was quiet and not noisy at all. We especially appreciated the silent c/o.The Staff is friendly but you cannot get a lot of prospectus of Roma from the hotel just a map with the main attractions (which was indeed very helpful).

So for a City trip of 1-2 days, this hotel is perfect :)

“Not bad for a 2 star!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2007

We stayed here overnight in July. We did not book here but cause the hotel we did book overbooked themselves they put us here. From the outside I was thinking that the place was a dump. Then we had problems with the elevator and I was not looking foward to seeing the room.I was so suprised when seeing the room. It was large with a great big bathroom and the best shower I had in weeks. The air con worked really well also. The only downfall was that they did not have a safe in the room and their breakfast was really lame. Otherwise it was actually better than the three star hotel that we had booked. When going back to the hotel we booked, I wanted to go back to this hotel. If this hotel had a better breakfast and a safe then it should be classed a three star.

“Okay Hotel with an okay breakfast”

Clean and reasonably priced hotel near the train station. Not my favorite place but considering that all the nice B&B were booked, I thought the Hotel Stella was fine.
