The Residenza "A" was the first hotel we stayed at in our 6 city trip. At first we were a bit reluctant to book such a small hotel, but was glad we did. The level of care and service was second to none. No huge attitude of some of the larger hotels, just warm and helpful.

The hotel is right on Via Veneto, just a short walk to many of the best spots. We found ourselves walking every night to the Spanish Steps, and having a glass of wine at one of the many little places around the hotel.

The room was perfect, Apple PC with Internet Service, very clean, and the Bulgari soaps and shampoos were top notch. The management in this hotel really care, and it shows it in everything they do.

PS: After a long flight from Canada, it was great to have someone waiting for you at the Rome airport when you arrive. The hotel arranged it all. It cost 50 euros, but well worth the extra 10 euros a taxi would have cost. In addition the hotel arranged for a Vatican tour all in advance.

Great hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Well this was the second stop on our tour of Italy on our honeymoon and it was a very pleasant 3 nights.

The hotel is small - very small - but makes up for the lack of size and facilities by the location and the great art on the walls.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast we took in our room and this was fine - huge pieces of toast (really huge).

Would recommend if you are looking for small, discreet (but perfectly formed!!!).

Thanks for making the stay pleasant.

The hotel is located in a great section of Rome. Roughly 3 long blocks to the metro system. We actually liked that the hotel does not obviously promote itself with signs outside...if you have the address, you'll get there. The front desk folks were exceedingly nice and would go out of their way to assist. We stayed in the XXL room which was nice with a small, but modern and clean bathroom. The idea of staying in a very small hotel appealed to us, however, the walls are thin and the maid makes a racket every morning outside your door which definitely interrupted our sleep time.
There is a wonderful little breakfast place right around the corner which was wonderful at any time of the day or night. Stay away from the large fancy restaturants on the Via Venetio...very expensive and poor quality food compared to what you will get if you just search around a bit for a quiet traditional Italian restaurant.

The hotel is on the first floor of what looks like an office building. From the outside, there is no sign to suggest that there is hotel at these premises. There is no lobby or porter to help you with your bags. I wasn't even sure if the taxi driver dropped me off at the right place until I asked someone who told me that the hotel was on the first floor.

The reception area is small and there are only about seven rooms in this hotel which are all on the same floor. We got the XXL room which had a double bed and a sofa. The room was an alright size but I was definitely expecting something much nicer for the price paid.

The bathroom was small and the shower was tiny! And I half expected there to be at least a bathtub. The shower was very noisy; we could hear the person in the next room taking a shower in the morning!

Our room looked out into the airwell which wasn't very pretty but we kept our curtains closed and I suppose it's better than facing Via Veneto, which is pretty busy.

We had breakfast served in our room once but there's hardly any space to put the breakfast tray on as there was only a narrow table in the room and most of the table space was taken up by the iMac and the keyboard. Also, you don't get to choose the omelette or the ham & cheese if you ask for breakfast to be brought to your room.

We had breakfast in the cafe next door on the other days. Service was pretty slow.

Location was pretty good although I'm sure there are cheaper hotels on the same road. Would stay here again only if it was much cheaper. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't.

Stayed for 4 nights in January. Nice rooms. Decent size for Rome. Stayed in XXL which is a triple. The rooms are named by size, XS to XXL. Looked into some of the other rooms and seemed ok in size despite the names.

The hotel is a converted apartment. Reception is manned from 7am to 10pm. Very helpful. With seven rooms the guys are not to busy and are happy to help.

Bathrooms swish and well cleaned. Very nice toiletries (Bulgari) that your wife might decide to keep instead! Excellent shower. Rooms smartly furnished and in good shape. Painted white and walls spotless so must be painted regularly.

Noise not a problem as our room faced inwards and it was off season. I think that even in high season it would not be as noisy as where we stayed near the spanish steps the last time.

Limited breakfast, served in room or at the cafe next door. Nice cafe, excellent service. Would recommend the cafe. Breakfast in the room was ok, but I need more than one coffee. Toast was only toasted on one side and seemed too much bother to ask to remedy. Had a nice dinner in the cafe. About the same cost as anywhere on Via Veneto and a nice short walk to the hotel.

The limited service is not a problem. Via Veneto is stuffed with fancy hotels and bars which you can use if you want. Very american street (hamburgers on most menus). Not the best atmosphere or shopping but liked it for being close to but away from the hustle of the spanish steps.

Taxi rank very close by the Westin and paid 7.50 to get to St Peters and the Colosseum and 4.50 to the spanish steps (10 min walk). (Taxis irritating, change is a problem, award themselves 20/30% tips if you are not careful - have change!). Got the hotel to arrange a car to the airpost. Cost 50 euro which is 10 more than the taxi flat fare. Worth it for the mercedes, friendly driver and convenience.

Reasonable supermarket in subway to spanish steps metro for essentials.

Overall enjoyed our stay a lot and were quite satisfied with the hotel and location. Would recommend and stay again.
