At least two travel books recommended the Fellini, but our experience was just so-so. It's important to underscore that Diego was about the nicest and most helpful person that we met in all of Italy. The other guy was nice, but not as helpful. We stayed in a 4th floor apartment that was high on square footage, but low on usage of that space. The hot water ran out after just one medium length shower, the toilet set was cracked. The safes do not work, so they offer to store your valuables. The single bed in the other room sank, and I wouldn't touch the spare blanket found in the closet. The breakfast was absolutely terrible, um, it's billed as bed and breakfast. Lastly, the elevator IS the smallest I've ever experienced. If location is a huge factor, it’s just down the street from Trevi Fountain. The saving grace was that the hotel is right around the corner from Nautilus, which was hands down the best restaurant we tried during our vacation.

Good location but very disappointed in the accomodations. Do Not stay in one of the apartments! Bad beds, no air, no internet.

I booked the hotel through booking.com so paying by credit card wasn't a problem for me. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is very close to the Metro line and the Trevedi Fountain. The man at reception when we arrived (11:00 PM) was very friendly and helpful and didnt do the usual follow you up to your room expecting a tip.

The room was plenty big enough for my partner and I, we stayed on the third floor where the air conditioning was excellent. It was so nice to come back from a hot day in Rome to the air conditioning. On reading some of the other reviews people have moaned about the air conditioning. This may be because they were on the 5th floor, we were on the 3rd.

My only gripe would have to be the breakfast, the rolls were about two days old, the cereal was strange and they don't offer hot drinks you have to poke your head in the kitchin and ask for one. This is a pathetic moan as other than that the room was clean, the air con was excellent, the staff were great, the location is perfect and i felt the €180 we payed for 2 nights was a good price.

One last thing, i think someone mentioned that from the breakfast terrace area you can see the colloseum, this is definately not the case. All you can see are satallite dishes and peoples laundry. :-)

Having said all of the above I would recommend it.

B&B definitely has its pros and cons.

I would avoid staying at B&B Fellini in the summer - as indicated in previous reviews, the air conditioning doesn't really work and when asked to fix it the staff says "Ok, we will increase the power" and there is no change. Nights are very unpleasant in this B/B.

Other drawbacks were that they didn't accept credit cards, there was no TV remote and the promised free wireless internet didn't work. The reception staff said the wireless "sometimes doesn't work in your particular room" but it didn't work anywhere in the building. No alternative solution was offered.

However, the rooms are well equipped and quite nice for the price (I thought the ultragreen decor was quirky, in a good way) and the location is excellent. The staff was also very friendly, though I couldn't help but think there was something insincere and "off" about the level of friendliness... maybe it was just paranoia from reading some of the fiercely negative reviews about the place but I didn't trust everything the staff told me.

Room was decently sized and the location is amazing - 5 mins from the Trevi and Spanish steps each. Metro station Barberini is a 3-5 min walk away. The room was well made, good bedding etc. The bathroom too was very clean and well sized (unlike the tiny bathroom we had in our hotel room in Paris). Front desk staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. They are short staffed so any room service or request takes 10-15 mins to respond to. But it does get taken care of. They have some issues with their facilities like hot water, access cards which get resolved. But one thing I am sure requires a total overhaul is their airconditioning! Rome is a hot city and we were on the 5th floor. The airconditioner doesnt even have a powerful blast, let alone expecting cool air. If you are visiting in peak summers or want good airconditioning, give the place a miss... it was still bearable with open windows, but then, no fan in the room
:-(

In summary, not a bad option in good weather and definitely, a great location.
