am sorry if this is very negative, I just wanted to forwarn others. We booked the Pop Inn hostel over 30 days prior to arrival. After we arrived, our reservation was missing. We were told that it would be near impossible to find accomadations b/c of a football game in town. The receptionist at the Pop Inn said that they had a sister "bed and breakfast" that is very nice and was more appropriate for people "our age" (we ranged in age from 23 - 41, there were 3 of us and there was no age restrictions listed on the web site).
Tired from the night train, we agreed (like fools) paid the 80 euros - at least we said we would only stay 1 night. We were told to wait there and someone would come and meet us b/c the recepionist at this other B&B was out sick for the day. So we waited and "Tony" came to escort us the 6 or so blocks to the B&B.
I won't bore you too much with the details...the B&B was Tony's apartment. Complete with non-funcioning shower. Roll away beds. Tony slept in the kitchen and we slept in his bedroom. The light bulbs dangled from the ceiling. We were instructed to lie to the other tennants in the apartment complex and say that we were "Tony's friends".
The next day we went to complain about our accomadations. I mean, really, this was not a sister B&B - let's call a spade a spade. This was one guy giving his buddy 80 euros from some tired tourists. I was amazed at the reaction from the staff at the Pop Inn. We were screamed, screamed at. We were told that we are ungrateful Americans (not that it matters but we are actually not American).
Just wanted to warn others - STAY AWAY FROM THE POP INN in Rome. Good luck and happy travels!
