I was at the resort the same week as another reviewer. We also went without water, but they refused to bring us any. My husband had to go purchase bottled water so we could flush the toilet! No one in the hotel seemed to care in the least. We live in Italy, and I do understand that 'things happen', our own home has lost water several times. However, our landlords are horrified and go out of their way for us. They don't shrug their shoulders and give us directions to the store to purchase our own water! The shuttle service was ridiculous. We ended up renting a car, but you are still about an hour away from the subway during the morning and evening 'rush hour'. Because we have a baby we simply couldn't stay at the hotel without water. We ended up leaving and staying in the city for the last part of our trip. The rest of our family stayed at the resort and my mother did report additional charges as she checked out. The strange thing is that this seems to be an apartment complex with one section labeled "resort". Very odd. I have never had an experience like this with RCI.

I had exhange my vacation week in Cabo, San Lucas, Mexico for a few days in Rome, Italy and we looked forward to our stay in Carpediem Roma. Inspite of negative reviews about the resort I was confident our stay will be satisfactory. The thought of its location out in the country gave us the expectation of lush, beautyful and scienic country side. We checked in on Monday June 5 at about 2pm and checked out at 7am Friday, June 9,2006.
Because of its inaccessiblity to Rome, we spent so much in taxi fares not to mention the resort's shuttle service that cost about 20 euros one way. There was no lush and sceinic country side. We spent so many precious time in commuting or waiting for a taxi because the shuttle service does not run on demand and need a day (preferably) to book. Then in mid week for 24 hours or more the resort did not have water! water has to be fetch from the swimming pool to flush down toilets, we were lucky that one of the staff happened to be around and brought in a pail or two of water for our unit. I have seen resort visitors making a few trips to fetch their water. The reception desk said this is the first time it happened and the locals in the area are also affected. This is the first time I am disappointed with my vacation exchange. Lack of communication and lack of transport is the problem with the resort aggravated by insensitive manner of communication by the staff (front desk) if these does not bother you then I hope that your stay will be pleasantly unfogetable as you may come accross one or two pleasant staff members.

We went here on an RCI timeshare exchange. It IS difficult to find, make sure you have really good directions. A car is essential as the property is situated in the middle of nowhere about 20 miles east of Rome. Best way to travel into the city is to park at Ribbibia Metro station.Our apartment was faultless BUT beware of the COMPULSORY 30 Euro per person 'service charge' card which allegedly provides discounts for all of the amenities (everything was charged for except the pool). We didnt use any of the facilities but still had to pay on check out.We wont be going back.

It's kind of funny this place is called Carpediem Golf Club, since during our stay both the golf course and the tennis courts were closed (in spite of perfect weather). Our only reason to stay at this place was to get in some golf and tennis during our two weeks in Italy. In additon to this, the apartment we rented was horrible. For $140 E we received a tiny one room apartment with no windows, a porch with no table or chairs, and a 12 inch tv with no english channels. Also, this place is very difficult to find. We ended up shortening our stay at Carpediem ... the not very friendly or helpful staff charged us for the remaining days we had reserved, in spite of the fact that we told them Carpediem did not turn out to be as advertised romeby. DON'T EVERY STAY HERE!!!
