In Rome on business. Really disappointed with this hotel. I needed to cancel an extra night due to a change in a business meeting and, although, they didn't make me pay for it in the end, there was a big hoo-ha about whether they would let me off or not. The room was pretty awful. Tiny, single room, couped in, very little light and decor was oppressive - Victorian gone a bit mad with lots of patterned material wallpaper. Internet service was free but only one computer situated at the end of the breakfast room (with staff walking past all the time), access only 30 minutes and you had to get codes etc. from reception - disaster if you are trying to do some work. Will not be going back here. Amazed it features on some boutique websites - I guess it's because it's not too big. Only positive is location - Via del Tritone is pretty much in the centre of things.

Never again.

Here is my feedback on my 2 nights stay in Stendhal hotel.

Will start with good things about this hotel. Location is good, can easily walk around the city centre and it s near to the metro. Breakfast and service is great.

However when thing goes wrong... here is what happened.

It was a great disappointment during my stay there. The first night, the air-conditioner has broke down and waited for 6 hours for it to be repaired. And I have to go down to the reception counter 4 times to continually check on the situation as there is no update from hotel staff. The service provided was a let down. I was told that the air conditioner become hot due to the summer season and it s normal. And the hotel staff was not helpful and "dont really care" kind of attitude.

The room was hot and stuffy, and it s suffocating. Being just arrived on the first day, there was no chance for me to rest at all. A hotel is meant for guest to rest and sleep. However this is not so with Stendhal.

On top of this, there is nothing mentioned in your hotel website that the pick up from the airport MUST be paid in cash. Was told this is so though I was not inform earlier.
