Our room was divine. Not huge, but beautifully decorated with very stylish decor and a very smart bathroom. The hotel is in a fantastic spot, a two minute walk to the spanish steps. The road where the hotel is situated is quite busy and noisy but the windows and shutters on the windows block out all the noise. The staff were great. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy and France and was served in a lovely, cosy area that made you feel like you were in a gorgeous home rather than a hotel. We would stay there again.

We selected Hotel Stendhal in Rome because of the location. The hotel is located about 2 blocks from the Barberini Metro Station. We received so much more than a convenient location. The staff was incredible. There was always a reception available, the bartender was fabulous and friendly, and the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were a little small, but very quiet for the hotel being located on a busy street. The housekeeping staff was excellent. They cleaned our room twice a day and provided fresh clean towels and sheets. One night we requested a restaraunt recommendation. The receptionist took care of everything...he made our reservations for us at the time requested and asked the restaraunt to show us special attention. It was the most fabulous meal we had the entire vacation. I will return to Hotel Stendhal any time I visit Rome.

All I can say is that it was excellent, well appointed rooms, very clean, the stafff seem a happy bunch and the location was excellent too, breakfast was excellent, beautiful food, don't waste you time looking around for anywhere else to stay! Rome was awesome, will be going back at some point and will definately stay here again, it was expensive, but believe me well worth the money!! Try Pepys Coffe Shop/pizzeria opposite the hotel on the corner of piazza Bernini, for a great cup of coffee and a lovely spot to watch the world go by....

We stayed four days in Rome at the end of February. Based on previous experience I have been carefully looking for a comfortable and still centrally located Hotel on the internet. So, I found the Hotel Stendhal at Via del Tritone, next to Barberini with Metro station and numerous busses stopping just in front of the Hotel. The Hotel is a design Hotel that has been completely refurbished and modernized. Rooms are small but nicely decorated and comfortable where you feel well after a long day visiting the city. Although we had a front side room, we did not notice anything of the busy street. Breakfast was excellent, as was the service and the reception desk. We can strongly recommend this Hotel for a pleasant and unforgettable stay in Rome!
