Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at the Pinewood Hotel for a four night break. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted by the woman at the hotel's front desk (in perfect English) and given the key to our room. Our room was spacious and very clean. Our comfy double bed and the bathrooms power shower and jacuzzi bath provided some welcome relief at the end of a busy day sight-seeing. The room was tidied and returned to prestine condition every morning with new sheets being laid and fresh towels provided. Breakfast is served from 7-10 a.m every morning and although it is continental it offers something for all tastes including cakes, cereal, yoghurt, bread, cheese and ham. At maximum, the nearest metro station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and can get you to almost all of the cities top attractions easily: Trevi Fountain, The Vatican Museum, St Peters Square and Basilica, Spanish Steps, Colessium and Pantheon to name just a few. Buying a travel card for 16E allowed us unlimited use of the metro, tram and bus services for the duration of our 4 night stay. When venturing out of an evening, sit down restaurants were few and far between within the area surrounding the hotel, although the ones we managed to find provided both excellent service and food for a reasonable price. There are numerous take-away pizzarias offering alternative dining options and the hotel bar is available until midnight providing a wide selection of alcoholic beverages if one wishes to stay close to base. Overall Pinewood Hotel is an excellent place to stay if you are holidaying in Rome and we would happily return here.
