The staff are friendly & speaks English very well. While checking in, I asked to have a wireless internet access room. I also pre-paid for the 4 days I was there. I stayed in room 309.

The room is not in the nicest of conditions. I've seen hostels better than this. I had a double bed with a view of residential flats. The heater in the room worked nicely and the bathroom was ok. The room itself had dirty walls with things I won't mention and the carpet was very dirty. In a 4 star hotel, normally you have a fridge. There was space for one, but this room didn't have a fridge. The TV was pathetic. My laptop screen is bigger than the TV. I didn't even bother to put it on. On the other hand, I liked the fact that the housemaid replaced all the toiletries during the 2 days I was in this room. I've been to many hotels where don’t replace them.

After the 2nd day I changed to room 201, where I had wireless connection. It had 2 single beds pushed together and the room itself was smaller than room 309. The housemaid on this floor didn't replace the toiletries. I also didn't have a fridge. My colleague told me he had one in his room (301), but it wasn't plugged and there was nothing in there.

The nearest metro is Cornelia, which is about 7 minute walk. In this aspect I guess you can say the location is good. The breakfast was also ok. They have scrambled eggs and pastries.

Overall, I would return for business or pleasure again, but only with my colleague since he seems to like. There's limited free parking. I, on the other hand, would opt for other hotels.

In general I expected more of this hotel because it was a 4 star hotel. Clean room. Small lifts. And it takes 10 min by bus to the closest station and then 25 mins to reach to the city centre. The area around the hotel didn't offer that much in fact nothing. No restaurants, no nothing. The Breakfast was the best part of all. After paying the tariff that was not cheap, we had to pay for the internet access as well. Average hotel, far from the main attractions.

This hotel, as many of the other reviewers have pointed out, is NOT 4 star! The best way to describe it is "bare minimum". I traveled there with a group so I can't really associate a cost with it, but it offered nothing but a bed and a meager breakfast. The airline had lost the entire groups luggage "temporarily" and by the time it arrived my packed clothes were really wrinkled. This 80 room hotel had not even one single iron for it's patrons to use. Nothing like visiting St. Peters looking like a frumpy mess! Thanks for nothing!

More importantly, on one morning my mother and I awoke and realized we never received our wake-up call. As we made our way down to breakfast (in the basement) we noticed the elevator wasn't working either. After breakfast, as we were standing in the lobby, the reception desk apologized and stated that both problems were due to a small fire they'd had that morning. He pointed to a wall outlet in the bar that had a smoke stain along the wall above it. At that point I cared nothing about the wake-up call or the elevator...where the heck are the smoke/fire alarms and sprinklers??????????

Beware: This is NOT a Four Star Property

Booked this hotel on Hotwire, which was sold as a four star property. In a dreadful area in the northwest of Rome, the only thing worse than the location was the condition of the hotel itself. Dreary and run down are the best terms to describe it. My room, which had no functioning air conditioning nor wireless internet signal was basically useless. I immediately checked out and moved to a real four star property, The Pulitzer. Hotwre users beware: if you see a four star property in 'Rome Northwest', it is likely the Pinewood, and avoid at all costs.

It took me and my partner a while to find the hotel as the map seemed to show different. However once we had found it we were greeted warmly by the staff on arrival. We had an overall comfortable room with air-con, the bath could have been cleaned a little better though. The breakfast was sufficient, nice crossiants but no hot food, nothing too special. One fo the downsides is that the hotel is fairly out of the centre, therefore we had to have a 10-15min walk to the metro, then another 15 min trip on the metro to get to where we wanted to in the centre. Therefore we stayed out for the whole day, which was tiring especially for all the excitement of Rome, it would have been nice if we could of popped back to the hotel for a little rest if it was in the centre.

If you cross the road from the hotel in to the park area opposite, you can have an interesting view, being able to see St Peters.

Overall it was good value for money especially for the short few days we were staying for but be prepared to have to trip into the centre of it all each day.
