While on a school trip my daughter and her friends left for dinner and cameras and ipods worth over 2500 were stolen from their locked room. The staff was unresponsive. We have a police report and have tried to contact them repeatedly but they will not repond. I am appalled at the lack of security while housing teenagers. Do not stay here.

Booked through cheaptickets as a last resort because all our other hotel picks were full - started reading the horror stories about this hotel and got really scared... This hotel wasn't that bad! Granted we went in with low expectations, we found the location was great and we weren't bit by bed bugs. This hotel isn't a 5 star and there were signs of wear (torn wallpaper, worn tv remote etc...) but check in was smooth and the room wasn't too small. Breakfast wasn't anything special; which is typical in Italy. Didn't seem like the maid service replaced sheets but again we were expecting to be covered with bug bites. However... if I were to return to Rome, I would stay somewhere else (closer to Piazza Venezia) and shell out a little more money for a nicer hotel. We were travelling on a budget and didn't stay inside the hotel too long so for us, this hotel was tolerable.

- I as well was on the group trip and all of this is true. The stolen items from a room that locked was the worst thing that happened and I was appalled at the response from the people at reception.
- The elevator was extremely old and could only hold one person with luggage, so it takes a while to get to your room on the fifth floor when so many are using it.
- The worst shower I have ever had..hot then cold then all over again. The toilet leaked..so the bathroom floor was always wet. And our bathroom window didn't stay shut, it opened on its own.
- In my room, a friend of mine went to put her things in the fridge, it was wet so she pulled her things out, and she said it smelled weird. Then she realized her jeans had white spots on them from what was in the fridge..figured it must be bleach and after smelling it, it was. So she complained to them and they claimed it must have been the people before! Ya right, the people before us decided to rub bleach in the fridge. Two words - B S
- The breakfast was as horrible as the service and hotel rooms which comes as no surprise really.
- My advice, don't risk it.

I also was part of the group who had possessions stolen from their room during their stay at this hotel. The staff there was unresponsive until the police arrived. Only then did the hotel take the break in as somewhat serious. The rooms were, to say the least, spartan and lacking in most areas. The showers either scalded you or left you freezing. The shower in my room leaked all over the floor and was in serious need of repair. Several student groups(boys soccer teams) were allowed to run wild in the hotel until well past 2AM and the staff did nothing when we registered our complaints. Not to point fingers, but the room broken into was locked before leaving for dinner. Someone either gained access to the room key from the front desk, or there are pass keys floating around. The location was handy, but I would check other hotels in the area before staying here. It would be well worth paying a few Euros extra to stay in a safer, cleaner and more secure hotel. I would not stay at this hotel again...even for free.

First of all NEVER EVER stay here if you want to keep your valuables. I went with a school group and $4000 worth of cameras and Ipods were stolen from our rooms. We left them there for ONE HOUR while we grabbed a bite to eat , and when we came back they were gone. The front desk LAUGHED and were NO HELP WATSOEVER. As soon as the clerk lady found out about the stolen materials SHE LEFT. They couldn't speak English at all. Breakfast was a dry croissant, or a roll.. Oh you could've had the water-juice or instant coffee. The bathroom knob broke and no one came to fix it. The water pressure was TERRIBLE and the temperature went from ICE COLD to SCORTCHING.A 94 year old elevator that has never been upgraded ( no exaggeration) .
Overall: DO NOTTTT STAYYY HEERREEE, DISCUSTINGG!!!
