Nice little place. Friendly reception who left breakfast on a tray as we had a very early departure. Good sized room. Great power shower and toiletries. Free wifi - great! Excellent location near to Termini and metro station. Significant noise from street during night so not for light sleepers!

Although we had booked for 6 nights (due to location near Termini and via Nazionale as well as more than 300 reviews on several booking sites that extolled the virtues of this hotel giving it anywhere between 8.1 to 8.3 out of 10 ratings), when we arrived we were shown a totally atrocious, dark, dingy, grubby, and minuscule room with a simple double bed that sloped to the middle, a coverlet of dubious cleanliness, one small hanging light bulb, and a bathroom with a vinyl shower curtain and mildewed grouting. And all this for just $125 per night! We immediately went to the internet (there was a very grubby PC in the alleged breakfast room which we had to use because the purported wireless in the "hotel" was non-existent) and booked a room at 4-star Hotel Brittania just a block away for about $160 per night. We had to pay $125 cancellation fee to Notti a Roma but we were more than happy to do so to be able to NOT stay there. Avoid this place! It is a rip-off and not as advertised on booking sites. The multiple reviews giving it high ratings are also suspect and likely submitted by the hotel itself.

First, getting there was so simple. we walked there from the train station. My mother is older and she had no problem getting around the city with from our hotel. the main train station was less then a 5 minute walk and there was an underground stop one block from the hotel. I couldn't have asked for a better base to work from.

second, the staff was amazing. they met us at the lift and got us checked in in no time. When we were ready to leave for the day they offered us maps and information about the city, being sure to tell us which places to stay away from and which routes two women should not take. I thought this was sweet, having been to Rome I knew the information was all to correct. upon leaving they arranged for an early morning cab and set out a breakfast platter by our door because we were leaving before breakfast. it was a really safe inviting place.

the only problem I had here was the bed was really uncomfortable. it was a thin foam mat that made sleeping a bit like camping. but they achieved so much with everyother aspect of our stay, that it was hardly an issue.

We had booked the 'apartment' for 7 nights for me and my husband and our three children aged 14, 11 and 11. The apartment consisted of a room with a folded out sofa bed with an enormous old fashioned television at the end of it (which could only receive distorted pictures of Italian channels). There was a bathroom which was adequate. Off the first room was a bedroom with a double and 2 single beds. The singles had no headboards and were along the 2 walls. The rooms did not look nice, were very dark and there were many marks on the walls. The air conditioning came from a unit at each ot the 2 windows overlooking Via Firenze. They worked but there was a bad smell from one of them. The rooms were VERY small and cramped and this did not meet our interpretation of an apartment. Within an hour or two of arrivinf we decided we could not possibly stay in the cramped conditions for 7 nights. I went out and found a hotel nearby which was complete luxury by comparison (though obviously it cost more). When I told the guy at the desk that we were not happy with the accommodation and that we were leaving the next day he was not at all happy. He said we could not do that as we had booked for 7 nights. I said that now we had seen the 'apartment' we did not like it and did not want to stay. I was very calm and in no way uncomplementary, I just said it was not suitable for us. At this point he rang the owner and passed the phone to me. I had to 'discuss' the matter for about 10 minutes with the owner, who got very upset and tried to move us to a smaller room. I had to be very insistant about leaving and only when I mentioned that my children were very unhappy and I was not prepared to ruin their holiday, did he agreed to only charge me for the one night. We were unable to sleep at all due to the excessive noise from the bar below and the breakfast was in the tiniest room, in darkness as the lights kept going out and the food choice was not impressive. All in all, I would not recommend this to anyone who wants any sort of relaxation or sleep. Beware of the term 'apartment' .
